Rugby throughout the years has produced worst ever performances and this year set some really shocking records of incompetence on the part of SA players that turned matches from wining or potential winning matches to certain losers.
However, lets look at the last two years to gather the worst thinsg I have ever seen in Rugby:-
The Worst Tackle Attempt I have ever seen by a loosie in tests
Willem Alberts attempted tackle during the Ellis Park test on Read. He capped that one in Suuper 15 in the game against the Highlanders when he attempted a tackle on Treeby and ends on his backside.
The Worst Decision Ever by a Flyhalf in Test Rugby
This achievement all goes to Morne Steyn - who in the Ellis Park seconds before halftime in his own 22 decided to pass the ball instead of kicking the ball into touch and directly contributed to the third try of the All Blacks.
The Worst Defense by a Fyhalf in two Tests in the RC
Again an achievement by Morne Steyn in the
* Ellis Park Test - 7 tackles amade - 4 misses - two of which let to tries being scored; and
* Perth Test - 8 tackles made - 7 misses
The missed tackle ratio for the two tests were 42,39% - must be a world record in incompetnet tackling during tests
The Worst penalty Line Kicks in tests ever
This achievement goes to Morne Steyn as well - heir being three cses to be quoted, namely -
* twice in the Eden Park Test - when Steyn missed to find touch and in both cases ended up in tries being scored by the AB's - making sure they got a bnus point for tries being scored; and
* the disater at the Perth test - where a kick by Morne made sure about a Springbok loss in the test.
The Worst Kicking performance ever by a Scrummie in a Test
This was the achivevement by Francois Hougaard for all the kicks launched by him in the Wellington test. Every kick was fided with ease by the AB's and in every case counter-attacks was launched - which ended up in serious defensive problems for the Springboks.
The Worst Decision ever by a Scrummie in a Test
Again a Francois Hougaard achievement with the pass to De Jager on the toiouch line facing multiple defenders - seconds before the end of play - instead of passing the ball to a player towards the middle of the field to continue an attack by the Springboks.
CONCLUSION
The above again confirmed why the mentioned three players are totally unfit to play international rugby. I am not really suprised - they have been sub-standard for years and was retained in the Springbok squad for reasons only known to Meyer.
THe AB's and Aussies did not need to pay them for throwing them matches and the RC Championship in two years - they did it all on their own.
