 If I was Meyer, these are the 36 I would have selected. My premise is that things need to change and we need to move on. Actually make it 40 players to round it off

Funny - I agree with you in this case.

I'd leave Jantjes for Morne, but other than that, preety much spot on. Nkanye is a real find.

Don't have a problem with your selection except Burton Francis for Jantjies and Kyle Cooper for Chilliboy and the order of selection and I would like Keegan to be there as well and maybe Jannie Du Plessis.

 Seb, Jannie is in my squad. Cooper is in better form than Chiliboy, I'm being loyal to Chiliboy here and politics has played a role in my choice. Francis has had one solid game, but has a history of not making the grade. Jantjies offers x factor. Agreed, I did have Daniel in but went for Alberts instead as I cant see Daniel get in ahead of Kolisi or Brussouw at 6 and Daniel is certainly not a number 8. But he is such a great impact player that I'd be tempted to have him on my bench, much like Deon Fourie would be a great impact player.

Kirchner's selection is pretty damn poor...he is as mindless today as when he first made an appearance, can't believe Meyer to  make such a dumb choice. On the flip side he has made some very good selections and I won't blame him for Bekker's loss, it's a huge one. Juandre Kruger is no Bok and neither is Flip van der Merwe....are they being picked because they're Bulls?

Not bad snapster but you can't only have one fullback. Add in Daniller?

Morne for Jantjes defintely. Jantjes has EX factor snapster.

Liebenberg (Or even Cooper) for the very average Chilli Boy . Flip for one of Willemse or Marais?

Deon Fourie for Kolisi. Way better.

Finally, please select on merit and not for political reasons. Nobody should get selected for political reasons surely!

I only accept Rhule for the experience he gains for possible future Bok duty. However his lack of clout does worry me but as he is only 19 so that should improve.

I would never have a squad of more than 30......too clumsy, and distracting. In any case there are several players on Dave's list and on Meyer's list who could never outplay the Aussie or NZ starters.....never in a million years. So why mess with them....test rugby is not a S15 walk in the park. Think back to Potgieter, Mvovo, Jantjies, Taute, Greyling, Daniels......guys in last year's S15 who seemed to do well, made the team and  crashed and burned.

 Beenkop, get a grip......Liebenberg is not test material. Cooper is far better as are the likes of Fourie and Callie Visagie.

Fourie better than Kolisi, that is the joke of the year.

Daniller is not close to test material. Willie is the fullback, but Lambie and Frans provide cover there.

Flip is a good player, but wont start ahead of Etzebeth, so I'd rather invest in younger squad players like Willemse and Marais, with Marais covering 5.

Disagree Moz, everyone of those players are as good as players form Oz and NZ who would form part of their wider squad.  As a coach you would want a squad of between 30 and 40 to work with. Your incumbent 22 plus a side of back-ups who know the workings of the test squad. You lose JP for a few months, you have v/d Heever to step in.

Taute is test material, he showed that in his tests against Oz and Ireland.......he has only had 3 tests, we can't define him as a test player after so few starts.

i agree with mozter, 36 is way too much and can be more detrimental then anything. if the squad was involved with a rugby tour like those of yesteryear which included weekly games as well as a 4-5 test series, then 36 maybe even more would be a perfect number.

i think 31 is a perfect squad number and it must be balanced with both form players & experienced incumbents.

while theres only one person at fullback, aplon and f steyn can and will cover there accordingly. and if injury becomes a concern, we can always slot in lambie.

am a little worried about SA depth at flyhlaf, i was forced to choose between morne and janties as back up & ended up going with morne cos hes clearly in the better form of the two, but IMO burton has been a breath of fresh air similar to when goosen forst arrived on the scene & if his form continues, his inclusion wont only be warranted, but it will have lambie thinking, im glad i can cover fullback, lolz, :oP

 Sas its a training squad not a tour squad........36 or 40 is fine.

Maku, you must be kidding, he is at best average and cant make the Kings starting side.

bekker will still be available for the june test series & if top league starts smae time iot did last year, bekker will be available for the first two tests of the IRC.

bakus form has slipped, especially on the OZ/NZ tour, but he was playing some great rugby when the kings were in SA. i havent been that big a fan of the other hookers in SA except strauss which is a no brainer & fourie who i forgot about until now.

Cant agree with your selections of Maku, Uys, Ferrera and Francis.

For a start you dont need four hookers, so that leaves space for Brussouw who should be in your squad. Maku is not test material

How can you not be impressed with what you have seen of Cooper for the Sharks?

Uys is really a flanker playing lock - the likes of Bresler, Jandre Marais and Paul Willemse are better investments.

Dont rate Ferrera at all, the in form loosehead in SA is Trevor Nkanyane.

how can i not be impressed with cooper, for starters hes a shark and they have been the most underwhelming team for me in 2013. coopers played all right, but nothing thats screamed look at me. i think any performance would look good if ur following burden.

i completely agree bro and thats the main reason as to why i selected him.
we can all agree that ezebeth is the main lock & its a matter of finding out the best locking partner for him to be paired up with.
ezebeth plays that enforcer type roll, the guy who gets in their and does the bulk of the grunt work and then asks for seconds. i beleiev that locks need that enforcer type player, but their partner needs to be a little more mobile while still ticking of the locks check list.
i see de jager and ezebeth as enforcer type locks, while i see du toit and uys as more mobile link man type of locks, the perfect combo.
i also believe that locks can have two enforcers, like de jager and ezeebeth, but i dont beleieve that u can have two pro mobile locks, cos u give away to much umpph which IMO is a key fundamental of any lock duos skill set.

i disagree on ferrera, IMO hes the form loosehead in SA. i really rate him, but the closest he will make any squad is obviously my squad, LMAO.
but if gunthro can make the EOYT bok squad and cilliers can make the Bokms squad, then i see no reason why ferrera couldnt, he deserves to be there before either of those two.

I failed to notice that you missed Kolisi originally.

One thing I hate, is playing loosies at lock.......anyway Uys has done nothing to merit his inclusion ahead of a real lock.

Nkanyane has been far better than Ferrera......agreed on Ferrera ahead of Steenkamp and Cilliers though.

But I prefer Beast, Kitshoff, Mellet and Nkanyane over Ferrera
