hopelessly exposed at the WC as a one man band. Let's put the final aside for the moment as this prolific try scoring team looked anything but as they struggled to come to terms with the loss of Dan Carter or Dan the man. There is no doubt that Bryce Lawrence served the AB cause by scorching the Boks......let's be honest here and ask who else is best qualified to beat them other than the French? Clearly he had a motive. So was there a plot? Blood is thicker than water. I fail to understand how a SANZAR award winning Refferee can be so incompetent. And was it a deal hatched with Brycee knowing that if he scratched the AB back that his would be scratched in turn with an award? Questions...questions..they flow off the tonque like an Agatha Christie murder plot. It's quite sad how the AB's wear the mantle of world champions when we all know that they were outplayed by the French and ably assisted by Craig Joubert. The mind boggles at what effect a loss in the final would have had on the NZ suicide rate. I question if the Kiwis posting on this very site would still be with us had the ABs capitulated once again as we've seen so often in the past.
But coming back to the loss of Dan Carter, I mean puleeeeze....without his prescence how one dimensional and clueless did this all conquering team look.....like a rabbit staring into the headlights of a Hummer tearing down a hill. McCheat was forced into action, doing what he knows best ,while Craig looked the other way and after 24 years of failure, for all that effort and assistance, they ended up winning by one single miserable point.
And that's on home soil. Shame.
