I've been reading all of your post on Rassie. We have those that love the guy, including myself and those who detest him.

However, one comment that stuck to mind is that Rassie is very aware of how short coaches lives are and how quickly things can change. He said it several times that he didn't want to be springbok coach as this would shorten his career and he is still relatively young.

I can see why some of you call him chicken. I for one  would have loved to see him in Aus / NZ. We need him there

I also question why Nienabaar.

Even though I detest Coetzee both as Stormers coach and springboks. It is clear that Rassie made sure that coaches under him follow his game plan.

Probably why it is so simple.

He seems to have a pattern where he comes into a team, recruit the right players, act as the head coach and then take a seat as directory of Rugby.

He  won a currie cup with the Cheetahs and then ran to the stormers to only be a head coach for a couple of seasons before given the reigns over to Coetzee. Then went to Munster, but was very happy to come to the boks rescue. He was able to secure a 6 year contract under the guise of director of rugby and not the head coach, only a stand in.

But why Niena, he has no record of being a head coach for any team. Why would you put him in charge.

Why not other coaches that have been there like Johan Ackerman. Is that he doesn't like strong personalities.

If his job is to work with the franchise and retain talent in SA then why not get the best coaches in the world, Eddie, Rennie or even Scott Robinson. His job is just make sure our young and old players are looked after.

Eddie is not afraid of bringing other former head coaches in to help him.

Is Niena just another fall guy for him. He can now distance himself and then just parachute in when things go wrong.

I do appreciate him as director of Rugby, but at least give us a decent head coach or coach the bloody boks and take the losses too along with the wins. Not just this one season wonders and then run before other coaches figure you out which has happened  in our last two test.

Great leaders build organizations and enterprises that continue to flourish when they leave….Harrassmus is just awol, not gone and already the Boks are imploding because he couldn’t work with strong assistant coaches.

A charlatan and a totally self serving man who doesn’t even respect the badge otherwise he wouldn’t have abandoned the Boks in 2007 and now again in 2021.

Technically he is a decent forwards coach, knows nothing about backline play and hasn’t introduced one innovation into the Bok game.

As a selector he is still playing with the Coetzee/HM team. His new picks are highly political.

His video damaged SouthAfrica’srugby reputation more than any single act I can remember.

It’s a tragedy because we are in one of those periods with a surfeit of great talent. Recall Jake White.

Moz your take on Rassie’s coaching credentials is utter rubbish Bring back Jake my arse we don’t need that loser back on board - been there done that Thankfully Jake will never coach the Boks again Rassie has fucked up by believing the team could operate without his presence. He clearly credited Neinaber with more clout than he actually has. Rassie believes in Neinaber but the players clearly don’t

Actually not sure Harrassmus will coach the Boks again….he  usually runs away when things get tough. And it’s possible, not certain, we could only win one more test this year.

Erasmus must be wishing he never made that tape - it could be his downfall.

Even if the Boks had played badly in all matches held in Australia, they would never have played as bad as they did last week had Rassie been on tour.

Rassie is still the head coach in all but name, and he needs to be there with the players motivating the troops, tweaking the game plan, etc.

Losing the first test on a 4-match tour is a terrible start.

Rassie  is a wily  coach. He always looks for where he can get an advantage. What really backfired was becoming a water boy. On one hand he got around where coaches aren't allowed to be on the pitch, but he was only in name, not the coach. His emotions got the better of him. Hence him playing the card that Kolisi didn't get the respect. But if you look at the body language of Kolisi, it is not that of a leader. He was standing so far from the ref. He never approached the ref properly. But then, Kolisi was never the real captain. We know that Duane is always the guy picking up the slack. In kolisi own words, he stated that he would let Duane do the talking.

But the  other coaches are catching onto him.

I have to agree, i don't think we'll see him take over the reigns. After all, it is his best friend  now coaching and how do you tell your best friend that he sucks and need to step aside.

I still don't know what stick offers as our backline play is non existnt
