The Boks lost a drawn game.....

officially it's a draw but it was more a case of the Boks losing a game that was theirs to win. Poor option taking or overuse of the chip kick in the red zone torpedoed any hope of scoring a try or two in the first half and with 50%+ possession and 70%" territory with only 6 points for their efforts, I say moral victory AB's . Reverse roles and I bet the AB's would have banked a couple of tries with those kinds of stats. Furthermore at no stage of the game did the Boks look like scoring a try. Rassie has failed to read the sign staring at him........Stick is a useless backline coach. Short on time he has to find someone who can uncork a non-existant attack. Jake had the same problem but was smart enough to co-opt Eddie but unlike Jake, Rassie does not have the luxury of time. The reality is that although he has pulled the right rein with the rush defence there is no way he is going to win himself a WC with an attack that fails to understand how to score tries.

Not too sure why dense doesn't realize Rassie has to have quota assistant coaches and staff. 

In any event the wee abs only scored 1 try.

Dense seems to be at sea on this matter. 

The Kiwis were very disheartened at drawing that game. They looked like they had just lost a WC final. A draw is not the desired result, but at least it robs them of any momentum going into our WC encounter. They know they have problems, they know they couldn't put it right against the Boks. What next? I think they feel the pressure. A draw isn't a win, but it's better than a loss. The manner of the loss, losing control of the game at the death, on home soil, that's the kind of stuff that festers at the back of one's mind.

The stats I quoted was from the first 30 minutes or thereabouts not the whole game and while you are correct in that the AB stats are indicative of them winning the game I still believe the Boks lost an opportunity to capitalize when they had control of the game in the first half. But it's not that alone, the bigger point is that they seemed clueless as to how to score a try. I also concur with Dave when he says it was a game of two halves. 

And yes I also agree that the draw was a reason for relief not a celebration. I think little Jantjies is one of two players who have ball sense and also the type of players who make their own luck.

Stats are like a pretty lady wearing a bikini... You see a lot of the picture but not all of it...

I think with variables like home game / ref and other subtleties I think ABs were the losers... 

Boks played well - dominant in forwards and their back line's defense was next level...

Wouldnt get too excited though my saffa friends - clearly the first of many games in lead up to RWC - AB's 1XV wouldnt waste Barrett at FB - he is the world's best 10 I think Mounga was getting some game time should barret get injured etc...

Anyway was good game - can the saffas beat the argies now the question...................

The anti-Erasmus craze by Mozart and co remains in full swing and is stupid in extreme.   If the Springboks won the game the same would have happened.   They have been exposed as dishonest and badly so for years now and they cannot change their jargon since it could expose them to further ridicule.
