The Brumbies Game

I believe that I have a fair knowledge of the laws of rugby - but this mornings performance by the referee left me in doubt of that.  The referee invented penalties and knock ons - for instance the last knock-on leading to a scum and the penalty awarded for scrumming even before there was any contact and the command was missing while the Brumbies went in early - baffled me completely.

When the brumbies was far behind the funny refereeing started - but one will have to accept that they found this referee somewhere to esnure a local win.

Some penalties were correct though - but some were inventions by the referee - and in some cases the Brumbies had a free hand to do pretty much like they like without being penalized.

This is the problem with Rugby; it is governed by 'guideline', not laws. That makes rugby, by definition, not a sport! Each ref is allowed to do what they want, ultimately use these guidelines to manipulate the game. It opens the door very much for corruption as we have seen over the last few years.

No doubt the Cheetas were robbed of a famous win by some dubious decisions in last 15 min of the game.

Ou Maaik you do surprise at times and I have to say you are spot on. The Cheetahs were robbed by another biased /bent down under ref. Is there just one straight one down there?

Pssst - Mike how about changing your board name to Mike or ou Maaik?
