The following players hace to mi mind cemented their positions in the squad  and the return of the injured players would be a tremendous help in upgrading the squad.


The following players should be considered:-


Full back


Willie le Roux is way ahead of the rest.   The vack up should come from Lambie and Taute - who was impressive n Saturday.


Wings


Should come from Habana. Pietersen and Mvovo


Centers


The key centers remain De Villiers,  Serfontein and De Allende.   Back up could come from Jordaan amd Small-Smith


It is no use to go back to JJ and Jacque Fourie they bring nothing to the party in attacking play -  Fourie os too slow and JJ too mindless.


Flyhalfs 


Pollard, Goosen and Lambie.   Steyn was pathetic in the second Wales test and his defense remains a serious liability.  Problem with Steyn is his absolute lack of ball sense.


Scrumhalfs


Meyer would run back tio Ruan Pienaar - but in SH conduitions his service is too slow and his playing style wrong.


Reinach should eb the number 1 choice and the back up could come from Pienaar or Hougaard.


No 8


Vermeulen is the only real choice - the back ups could be Pkilip van der Walt and Whiteley, neither of th latyter two would et the team down.


No 7


My surprise choice here is Jacques Potgieter - he definitely has learnt a lot playing in Australia and not for the local coaches.  He was outstanding for the Waratahs and if Burgr can get him back - it would be a great boost for the Springboks.   Meyer should negotiate to get him released by his Japanese Club.


For the back up I think it should come from Burger or Labuschagne - Alberts were even more pathetic this year than he was in the past.


No 6


Louw - with Coetzee as back up


Locks


The obvious lock choices are Etzebeth and De Jager.  With Du Toit injured - the back up situation is slim.  If we want a physically strong lock the back up should be Willemse.  I would add Lewies to th aback up players - snce Matfield is really not physical enough.


Props


The situation is clear now.  The props are Mtawarire, Malherbe, Nyakane, Jannie  Du Plessis and Oosthuizen.   


Hookers

    

Bismarck du Plessis and Strauss.

 Habana, Pienaar, Louw and Steyn will only be available for the fist two rounds.

Goosen is a  liability. He has shown in the game against the Sharks that he cannot tackle, he kicks the ball away aimlessly, he doesn't pass, he gains very little ground with ball in hand, he cannot beat defenders, he doesn't off-load, he is a penalty machine and a  walking yellow card.

Hendricks has performed better than Mvovo ever has at wing, he deserves to retain his position.

Jean is a poor man's centre. Not a specialist 12, we must move on from him. He cost the Boks last year with his leadership going missing in action and his performances. We need Frans first and foremost, and we must retain JP for continuity.

Lambie has done nothing at Super or Test level, Goosen hasn't landed one dominant tackle in his entire senior career, has failed in every test tackle. He cannot play too flat either because his body cannot sustain the pressure. He is a fullback or nothing. Morné to start, Pollard to understudy for the rest of Meyer's tenure.

You lock selection is utterly shambolic. Matfield, Bakkies, Lood and Flip are our best locks. Eben has potential, but these four provide too much power and set piece dominance.

Scrumhalf is less obvious, though Pienaar must certainly be dropped. Hougaard has to be in the squad and the other a forced gamble. I don't dislike Reinach, but this may be too early for him.

Fullbacks are simple. Kirchner has been the best performing 15 for South Africa up intil the past month. I have no problems with Willie starting ahead of him on current form, but Kirchner must be next in line. Lambie has done nothing at fullback and Taute cannot be taken seriously.

You never get it - now do you.   Steyn was a flop at 12 in the Springbok team in 2012 before he was injured.   His performances last year at 12 was so bad - that Plumtree decided to drop him as a center.  This year his performances was poor as well.   As a center he was worse than any other 12 in SA.  In all the games played he made 1 line break and beat 8 defenders - he never scored a try - his defense was the poorest of all 12's in the Super 15 competition - he spilled possession or loose possession more than any other 12 in Super 15 - he gave away more penalties than any other 12 in SA.  That is in essence a very poor string of performances.  Definitely not worthy of selection - he is bad news.
Only a lunatic will start with the Stade Francais Reject especially since he was so poor in the 2nd Welsh test.   He is the most over-rated player ever to play for the Springboks and a regular let-down for the Springbok team.
Your lock selection is a real joke in bad taste.  Bakkies and Matfield - with Flip out of action for the rest of the year.   Do you want us to lose our Tight 5 domnance in games.  Both Bakkies and Matfield are not physically up to standard anymore.   It showed in the recent games.  Both were no facttor against the Welsh, against the Scots Matfield played the vanishing game and on Saturday - with resspect - he was piss = poor and dominated by a youngster.   
Kirchner - OMG .   Most people in the stand jeered when Kirchner came on when Le Roux went off.  The best full back in SA until last month -  Yiou really are funny.

 The most overhyped and overrated player is Lambie. More hype than Watson and even less output. Then there is Goosen. I posted a vid exposing your little rants regarding Kirchner - best defensive performances of all fullbacks post 2007 and excellent on attack.

Ja well imagine somebody who was naive enough to pick Belgium to win the WC, pontificating on anything in sports . I suppose you thought Hazzard was going to run around untouched as he was at the start of the English season. Hell man couldn't you see he wasn't cutting it even against the weaker club teams after his injury? Could you be a more naive groupie?

But I didn't pick Spain to win the semi....you picked Belgium to win the whole shooting match. And my team, the Bargies are still in it....admittedly with reduced prospects because of Di Maria being unavailable.

 clevermike with #10's like Pollard, Goosen and Boshoff performing well at all levels I find it strange that you can still nominate Bambie. 
He has had one or two good games in the Green and Gold but since then he has done nothing worth mentioning.
I for one think he is not going to get selected for the Boks.

For me Lambie remains a back up player - if Le Roux for instances gets injured I would have him at full back.  He may not be in the team itself - but I think he should be in the squad of 30 to cover the full back position if need be.
