I must agree with Dave - the death odf Australian Rugby is caused by the ineffective funding iof rugby development in Australia by funds Super Rugby helped in the main rugby in Australia and also New Zealand. The biggest guarantor of funding fo Super Rugby was Supersport from SA.
There are already signs that rugby in New Zealand are going down as well as a resut of the absence of the Argentine and SA teams from the Supersport sceario. With money limitations the New Zealand players are increasingly entering in foreign clubs in epecially Japan and Europe. That sjhows that the New Zealand teams are no able to pay players to remain in New Zealand.
The effect was that the All Blacks use elderly players in the last WC since they have very limited youngsters coming through from the clubs.
Their junior team looked competitive at the recent Worlds…still a good talent flow.
The problem was - During the Foster era - NZ Rugby completely lost its way.
The AB's completely lost their way caused by some very poor coaching and game plan from Foster / Plumtree etc etc.
In the year up to the world cup there was a correction with Jason Ryan giving them a new direction.
With Vern Cotter back on board at the Blues - The forward strength is starting to involve again and under Razor the AB's will be a completely different beast.
The AB's were absolutely hopeless in the Foster period.
The NZ Rugby public tried to tell the union that it was going to be a disaster.
And we bloody well got what we were thinking.
It was absolute hopelessness during the completely wasted 4 years.
To the point that the AB's lost alot of support.
I don't even think the team realised how bad they were.
Far dew to Ireland in 2022 but quite frankly we could have got an under 5 team in NZ to beat the AB;s at the time - We were that fucken bad.
They were that far off track they would not have known if their arses were on fire.
FOSTER WAS A COMPLETE LOSER AS A COACH - HE ALWAYS WAS AND HAD DONE NOTHING PREVIOUSLY IN HIS COACHING CAREER.
Yes he had merit as an assistant coach but that was because he was a yes man for Steve Hansen.
As it proves even now - He is at Hansens club in Japan - Getting all his opportunities from Hansen - He is not rated by anyone else.
And he got the AB Job from NZ Rugby who as you know have made some shockingly bad decisions in the last few years.
Appointing Foster as coach and booting South Africa out of Super Rugby are only two of the many negligent decisions that these idiots have made.

Yeah, New Zealand got too arrogant. They finally won the world cup, then a 2nd. Although, the first one could have gone to France. I hate when they claim they won 3 when in fact it is only 2.
The bok team of the 80s was something special. Carel Du Plesis, Ray Mordt, Danie Geber to name a few. Had it not been for sanctions.
Don't forget, New Zealand got massive sponsorship deals and were the hottest ticket in town. Filling stadiums where ever they went. Can't say the same for SA.
But ja, we might night play Harlem globe trotters rugby, we stick rugby fundamentals and show that if you have the right desire and hunger and determination, you can win.
Out team will always make a Hollywood blockbuster for the guys they show, but that doesn't translate to every day viewership.
I still enjoy watching the NZ teams.

I don't think Razer will have it so easy. Most of his key player have left NZ and the crusaders are in tatters. He is asking New Zealand to bend the rules, but even those players are not hanging around. Big bucks are in Japan and France
