The demise of the ectomorph type of South African back

So much energy and enthusiasm has gone into a particular type of South African back.....lean, quick and quite succesful at the junior level. These were the guys who were going to change our back play. And when national coaches had reservations they were stupid and unimaginative. Who are we talking about? Guys like Basson, Jordaan, Swiel, JJ, Mapoe, Jesse Kriel and the crown prince of ectomorphs, Johan Goosen. Today Goosen 'retires" from rugby after many a misguided pundit was pushing for him at Bok 10. Didn't they see the half hearted attempts to secure the high ball, the feeble tackles and turnovers conceded in contact? Apparently not. Seems Goosen wan't enjoying his rugby though.....and pulled the plug on his club obligations. These ectomorph types are not the answer....particularly in the inside backs. The game has changed, today's test rugby requires a more physical and aggressive type. It's hard to be aggressive when you are regularly being overpowered.

  Standard BS - nothing new.   Jordaan has a foreign contract - something your favourite De Jongh will never get.  
Goosen was the top player in Top 14 last season - so your assessment is tripe as per normal.   Do you know the real reason or his "retirement" or are you just polluting the board with your standard bile?   

Goosen is a pipe dream.......a player time has passed by. And as I warned you Jordaan is a provincial player, nothing more.

Sorry to interrupt your little rant, but what it sounds like to me is that you're not an ectomorph yourself.

Y ou are consistently confused  You list some players above and not duds like Fat Fransie, Morne Steyn and De Jongh.   Experts said that Fat Fransie is no center and virtually everybody bar you agree that Fat Fransie and Morne are no flyhalfs either.
If Jordaan is a provincial player - De Jongh is not on that standard since he is definitely below Jordaan in performance.
Get rid of your prejudices/hatred of certain players and start being objective - and we may get something positive out of you yet.

Does not shine positively on the way this guy was tutored, and people who are supporting his attempt to rob as he has support in SA to achieve his heist .

Still I have good news, Francois Venter isn't an ectomorph.....he is just slow as treacle. What happened to all those assurances he was going to be great.....you kinda did the deep dive on us.

 In response I asked Mozart why the duds he champions are mot included in his drivel 0 but he obviously only wanted a go at the players he wrote off even before he saw them playing,

Two points away - is not good enough.   A wonderful effort  we played 9 men rugby and the role of even the flyhalf was taken over by the forwards - predictable as hell and  never going to be winning rugby.  
The same game plan - or absence of a game plan  - represented a loss against JAPAN earlier in the tournament and a fluke win against the Welsh in the quarterfinal.  The same game plan or lack thereof caused the string of losses since the WC. 
Rugby moved on - the densest idiot ever has the audacity to write BS on this site and when cornered he gets personal - but what else can be expected from a notorious and self-opinionated liar.

Last year with a bunch of veterans you despise we were 6 and 5, Not good but massively better than 4 wins and 8 losees we acheived using the 'same plan' according to you.....but also a bunch of supposedly great new talent. There is no doubt that Meyer as a dud as coach - but Coetzee is much, much worse.   Lets loo at the two coaches first.
In his last year as coach - Meyer's record was 7 wins and 7 lossesIn his first year as coach - Coetzee's record was 4 wins and 8 losses
The 7 wins happened to include a WC competition where SA had the disgrace of losing against Japan and then played two minnow teams recording victories.   Not very inspiring I would say and the senior players you adore was the root of the problems - even though you tried your utmost to cover it up.
Coetzee was a mess - his speciality was he (like Meyer) had NO game plan - and he fouled up by playing players out of positions where they are accustomed to play.   He persisted with Jantjies when it was clear that he was not up to standard and a number of other players like De Jongh and Paige was sub-standard,  I did not want any of the duds in the team.  The captaincy was a farce as well - especially since it was known early that Strauss was retiring.   
Like Jantjies, Paige and De Jongh there were other players I would never ever have had in the test squad and those include Alberts and even Louw - a blindsider pretending to be an opensider. 
You cannot have a long list of duds in any team coach by a dud and expect that thy would do anything good for us.            

Well let's look at the new guys: Goosen....flop and now nutter. Combrink....flop on the YE tour Mapoe....flop Venter.....flop Kriel.....flop Allende....flob Jantjies.....flop Lambie....flop Faf....flop after Ireland Paige...flop Marx....flop Stephanie...flop on the YE Kleintjie Kriel...hurt Mostert....flop Whiteley....flop Coetzee was bad, but so were his players. And again let me negate the coach was totally at fault argument before it's offered. Every one of these players had a chance to do something great on an individual basis. Break some tackles, make some tackles....make a great pass, steal a lineout.......all available to them as individuals Great players would have left their mark, these players never left a fingerprint.

 Put it this way, one either gives that list a full vote of confidence or you don't. None of them would have gleaned any confidence of Coetzee, still there's an argument for the lack of individual brilliance.

Goosen was only ever a 10 and a class one at that.....size/physicality is of no consequence at 10........look no further than Foley, Barrett, Ford, Biggar, Sexon, Cooper, Cruden, the endless list of French 10's tried.....etc.....Moz has it as wrong as ever
The fact that Goosen has ripped NH apart being named French club player of the year, is the true measure, but trust Moz to seek guidance in what that idiot Coetzee did to Goosen stupidly playing him out of position at 15, much like he did Lambie.
Jessie Kriel small is he.....wow at 98kg, Mapoe at 100kg....wow  

Only time I saw Goosen play flyhalf this year was against the lowest team in the Frog league....and he was a basket case. As for Kriel and Mapoe, handsome is as handsome does....they are overpowered in the tackle. Most fmously when Kriel was overpowered by the Jap to cement our WC loss.

 Goosen under a good coach could be very effective. He is not a donkey aimless kicker- so he does not fit into the game plan. Jantjies went from the form Super Rugby flyhalf to a basket case under the utterly useless  Coetzee.

Oh good, so if we replace Coetzee they will both be world class. Take a look at Jantjies in the S15 final. Take a look at Goosen at flyhalf against lowly Bayonne.

 The repetitive garbage is actually a bit sickening - but it shows how prejudice without regard to performance is what Mozart thrives on.
Mozart's assessments of players is entirely based on prejudice and not really worth commenting on.   What is laughable that he clearly prefer Fat Fransie at flyhalf - a player who was a massive flop in 2014 and 2015 when playing for the Sharks - Hs stats is sickening and  saw him playing in both years for the Sharks and what he did can best be described as a crime against rugby - confirmed by his stats as well.   2 ball possession losses says it all.
He disregarded completely the fact that Goosen scored more tries and assist in scoring of tries as well - that does never count in Mozart's book - and the other part of his funny approach is the feeble try saving tackle lie he spouted as well.
However, nutcases we will always have on this site and nuts are entitled to their own opinions.   Mozart starting of threads seems to deal with only certain rugby players and Le Clos and that is his sum  total of contributions.   .
