the disgraceful Marius van der Westhuizen to ref Waratahs-Crusaders,... again

sunday's Waratahs-Saders ref is going to be Marius van der Weisthuizen,... the same who referred the Warathas-Crusaders in 2015,... one of the most shameful refereeing I remeber

He completely refused to stop the tahs players' constant niggle and bullying,... the most clear and grave incident was Skelton's tip tackle on Whitelock and Latu's punch on Crockett in the resulting brawl,.... as the SANZAR recognized later both should have been red carded (and were cited and punished) but the ref only showed a yellow to Latu,.... Skelton was that day the designated bully-man by Cheika (as in the WC final was Kepu),.... and Skelton perfectly fulfilled his role, apart from the red-deserving tip tackle, he shoulder charged McCaw and Whitelock (this was especially coward given that Whitelock was immovilized on the ground),... both deserved a yellow but the ref and TMO refused to do what they should,.... the refereeing was so disgraceful that after the shouder charge on Whitelock, the captain Read had to tell "the referee his side may be forced to take matters into their own hands if the Tahs did not use arms in the tackle"

Not content with this, he showed and undeserved yellow to McCaw when the saders were trailling by only 3 points (25-22) after reducing a 17 points difference from a 25-8 scoreboard, and when the saders were completely outplaying their opponents,....
with one more player on the field the tahs could revert the game's course and get the definitive try for a 32-22 win

 with Craig J oubert's last year's QF Lions-Crusaders, both the worst and most biased refereeing I remember,.... just hoping not to add the sunday's game to the list

I'm curious, what is your complaint against Joubert in the QF?

this is just the most important:

- minute 3. Cyle Brink's shoulder charge to Read's head just under Joubert's nose. That's a blatant red card,... it should have been red but at least, least, least deserved a yellow.
The Lions should have had the penalty against Read (which was very, very dubious) reverted and played the next 10 minutes with 14 when they were up 5-0

- Instead Joubert kept the penalty against the saders and showed an inexistant yellow to Romano (according to Joubert for cynically stopping a maul entering by the side when he entered through the middle and was a Lions player who left the maul)

- and in the same play conceded a try preceded by a knock-on

what should have been a penalty for the saders with a 5-0 scoreboard and one man up the following 10 minutes (if not the rest of the game) , Joubert turn into a 12-0 lead for the Lions and a yellow to the saders

- there were other "mistakes" like calling a penalty against Read when he was 1 meter from the line and he wasn't released in the tackle,... hence a penalty against the lions should have been called,...
but in spite of Joubert's refereeing the saders were closing the gap (15-10) and  outplaying the lions so Joubert again turned a penalty against the lions scrum in a penalty against the saders,... in their own 22,... just before halftime,... from this penalty came another lions' try

- and what is very telling of Joubert's attitude, in the beginning of the second half, probably the most blatant intentional knock-on I've ever seen,.... which deserved a yellow without any doubt,... and Joubert dare to say that it was in a tackle when Faf jumped for the ball and barely touched Todd,.... incredible

- And to finalise this resume where many minor mistakes are not included (like the multiple Jantjes' forward passes,... something he's very used to do), another blatant yellow card not shown to the lions when they were leading just 28-20,.... Ackerman's shoulder charge to Romano when this last was on the ground

so Joubert gifted the lions with 2 tries and didn't show 3 blatant cards,... instead showed an inexistant one to the saders,...

I agree the shoulder charge on Reid looks bad, the one by Ackerman was a clear yellow. The Faf knock down was also a clear yellow. And finally the scrum was wheeled first by the Lions, there was no way the Saders tighthead could have stayed straight given the angle of the Lions' scrum. ... I think Joubert is a nice man and I don't think he is a cheat. But I do think he tends to focus on one aspect and miss a lot of what is going on around him. There is no doubt the Saders were poorly served by a number of these decisions,

 BP I'd take you much more seriously if you didn't only complain about inadequate reffing when happens aginst your team. 
It happens all the time. I complain regularly about inconsistency and poor reffing. If it involves incidents when NZ teams benefit then I'm practically goading some board members. 
So, yeah we should complain about the inconsistent application of the laws but we should try to remain consistent ourselves too. Splinter...Log...Eye.

I also think Joubert is a nice guy and I had him as the best ref n the world for a long time,... never said he was a cheat but in that QF he had an atrocious game and clearly influenced the outcome,... there was too much pressure,.... nobody outside NZ wanted an All-kiwi SFs,... there was an extended believe that it could be bad for the Super Rugby competition,... and especially for the TV audiences outside NZ

I have criticized (or simply talk about) referees many, many times,... not only when happens against my team, as you said,... what I've never done is to hide behind very vague excuses ("it happens al the time") for not recognizing that my team has been favoured by the ref,...

and no, man,... this kind of refereeing doesn't happen all the time,... joubert's performance in last year's QF was extremely biased and openly favoured the lions,... the video is there as evidence,... as I said and explained why, I have it as the worst and most biased refereeing I can remeber alongside the 2015 Waratahs-Crusaders game and probably only matched by the 2007 WC QF

so, plum, I'd take you more seriously if you begin to recognize that your team was favoured and granted the SF by the ref

 I rate Joubert highly but yup that was a shocker by him .Surely a neutral re f could have been found ?

 BHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA nothing can be funnier than kbbs complaining about a ref given their appalling record in this regard.  If anything ever happens against them they go on and on about it. How many times has poor Wayne barnes been attacked by these kiwis?
