The EP Kings neww sponsor a Bankrupt chancer

“The "saviour" of the Eastern Province Rugby Union (EPRU) has been revealed to be a bankrupt businessman with an unregistered UK firm and a false business address.

Integrated Sport, a sports marketing company from London, was recently revealed as the union’s new sponsor.

This information was made public when the EPRU handed in a business plan to the High Court in Port Elizabeth in an attempt not to be liquidated.

According to the business plan, Integrated Sport would invest R20 million per year into the EPRU for the next five years, with the first R20 million paid up front as a token of good faith.

However, in a stunning new development, the DispatchLIVE website is reporting that Christopher Wishlade of Integrated Sport is in fact bankrupt.

According to the website, a three-day investigation revealed the following:

- Integrated Sport is not a registered company in the UK;

- Wishlade was declared bankrupt in June 2010 and again in April last year;

- Barcelona Football Club, which Wishlade claims was a client, says it has never worked with him;

- A company he formed in 2005 was liquidated two years later, with 11 creditors owed £142 864 (R3.1 million)

- The address on the Integrated Sport website belongs to Kensington Pavilion, a business club where the receptionist has never heard of Wishlade - or his company.

The EPRU has been in major financial strive in recent times and was unable to pay players’ salaries.

It forced SA Rugby to step in and take charge of matters as the beleaguered union faced liquidation.

On its official website, Integrated Sport describes itself as a “company that specialises in offering a range of solutions for our clients whether they be a commercial organisation, sports club, franchise or federation”.

However, UK Companies House case manager Janet Hurley said the Integrated Sport registration number listed on its website was not linked to any UK-registered company.

When contacted, EP Rugby president Cheeky Watson referred all questions to SA Rugby.”

 

The EP Kings story becomes funnier by the day and it is clear SARU was takn for a ride this time – it is likely that SARU made the R20 million deposit at the lawyer’s office with the idea that the money would be recovered from the mythical company in an effort to stop the declaring of the Kings as being bankrupt.   When I read the report it stinks to high heaven and I am not at all surprised what happened now.

That is not quite true. There is such a register ed company in the UK.

 When I tried to get into the website it was a blank and I think it was removed after the newspaper report.   Ceradyne there are a number of companies listed in goggle search - but they are basically US companies - may have an office in the UK though,   I came across the liquidation of one of the Wishlade companies - so there is likely to be a chancer at work here.  

 Maybe that is because you are not as knowledgable as you always think you are. I was only trying to indicate that the article was not factually 100% correct. It also did not require a "three day investigation" to find out what was what. Typical media BS.
These are the facts that I found on three minutes, rather than three days. The UK equivalent if CIPRO is Companies House. This was what I posted on another site:

What I cannot understand is that they make it sound as if it took a deep investigation to find out if the company or Christopher Wishlade was legit. Three minutes to find all that was needed. And then their info is wrong as well. There is indeed a registered company named Intergrated Sport Ltd in the UK.

Intergrated Sport Ltd is a company with one director, a Nigerian by the name of UKPOSI, Ejikeme, who is also a director one other company, Advantage Seed limited. 

Wishlade  was a director of three companies, all dissolved, and he holds no active directorships.

He probably declares his companies bankrupt- so that he does not have to pay off debt. One sign of a dodgy company is changing the company name etc- just to dump a whole lot of aged debt. 
If they are really bankrupt- the owner of the company would have no money. 

The Wild Wild West....hahaha...sounds like the Nigerian scams have morphed a bit.

 He is by all accounts as dodgy as Cheeky himself, SB.

 I knew about an old gent whose companies were declared bankrupt - there was eventually 11 of those.   What he  did was to start a company - syphoning off all revenue and pay no debts.   The company goes belly-up - but after each bankruptcy the owner is much wealthier.
