Erasmus made two huge mistakes when he appointed Kolisi as captain and Stick as his backline coach. We are effectively without captaincy and a functioning backline. Our centres get the ball standing still.....our only attacking threat is Kolbe, and he was immense. But with almost 59% of the territory and 53% of possession, we could do nothing. The players were spotty throughout...... Willie's missed pass to Kolbe and Mapimpi's missed tackle on Reece were unforgivable. Allende and Am were toothless. Our half backs were also horrible....surely Faf's worst test, and Pollard needs some help in how to launch a backline. Our starting front row were bested by the ABs, and if we can't out scrum these guys we cant beat them. Why was Kitshoff left on so long....the Beast was way more dynamic when he came on. The locks more than held their own in the lineouts.....but once again our loosies were nowhere. Vermeulen made one strong run and Stephanie was gifted a try, but for the rest we were nowhere, especially on the deck. The ABs are probably still the best competitors in the game.....but the gap has dramatically narrowed....we just weren't good enough to exploit that. The Eraser plan is bland, boring and ultimately not enough. Face it HM took us much closer 4 years ago against a much better AB team.

Didn't know the Boks lost by fifty points.

Had Willie sent out a decent pass to Willie  Boks would have lost by 3. One Pollard kick hit the post.

Then we have an uproar about the bent ref. How much did that cost us!

No you are way to critical. Boks won the second half as well.

Allende was second only to Kolbe in the backs. Mallet commented again on how good Steph was.

Right now my main concern is the Nyakane injury.

If we get to semis I would rather play Wales than England.

It's not all doom and gloom

Moz the captain and one coach was decreed by the ANC as part of the transformation plan to improve the game and life in general in RSA.

As to Faf, Pollard and the two starting props the less said the better.

Captain "Plank" was a disaster as captain and he is neither inspiring or a leader to the team.

Waste of a space I say.

HasBeen our backs are getting the ball standing still.....Allende was never a threat....Kolbe was our whole offense. Mallett is clueless.....forgetabout him. The Frogs and Bargies had better coached backlines I agree this is not a big setback though.....going through Ireland and Wales is no harder than going through Scotland and England. But we didn't just lose today, the Nienaber defence was compromised for the first time. The ABs found a way to break it down. That's a bit of a turning point, which wont be lost on other top teams. We were closer under HM.

Sorry Moz have to disagree Kitshoff was great and our scrum dominated. Faf was very poor and Mapimpi is far too passive. Madness that Nkosi was not selected ahead of him While our backline did little, the AB backline did just as little. Did Crotty play? Our issue was that our rush defence was exposed and the AB’s exposed the passive Mapimpi for the first try and good old Mostert missed a tackle setting up the second try

Hard tackle for a lock to make though.....on a back at pace.....diving slightly backwards. We had opportunistic backline raids raids, as did the ABs......the difference is the ABs managed to back up their ball carriers. Two or three times Kolbe just needed a support runner.

The abs only scored two tries. That tells me our defence wasn't nearly as poor as some suggest!!!

It was also very clear we bungled our opportunities on attack.

Our defence pressurized the abs very well.

Kitshoff did a huge amount of work. Only problem was I think the reserve front row should have come on as a unit ten minutes into second half.

That injury to Nyankanye was crucial.

You can bet if we had lost by a point the emotional backlash would have been just as bad.

I think the boklash has as much to do with the aimless play as with the result HasBeen. Aren't you sick of seeing our backs running at half pace? Just 5 movements where our centres looked like they were really trying to break a tackle would suffice.

Moz - Mostert is no lock, he is a flank and a flank should be making those tackles. How many times did we see Mostert get smashed backwards? I just don’t get what people see in this guy. There was nothing in that game - they exploited our rush which is always open to flaws if brainless players like Mapimpi over commit. Unfortunately Faf had a mare both with his kicking and wayward service. I thought we had the better of them physically but as per usual they capitalised on the few opportunities they got thanks to our one on one missed tackles

As per normal BS in wagon loads.   The situation was that te following were hopeless in the game:-
Mostert
He was hopelessly poor in the following:-
*    Carried the ball 8 times making 1 meter in territory*    Made 10 tackles - missed 4*    Was constantly keeled over in line-outs easily
His one missed tackle led to a try - so here is the excuse:-
"Hard tackle for a lock to make though.....on a back at pace"
Really a LMAO case,  When Mostert missed a tackle on Sanchez Du Toit was blamed for the miss.    Du Toit was not near enough to be blamed this time around - so follow the easy and expected excuse.
Anyway - you could never be expected to write the truth about what happened.  You previously said that Mostert is so good in line-outs and everything else when others referred to his physical deficiencies.    The AB targeted him in lineouts today and he was a joke in bad taste.
Vermeulen
He was good in one carry - but is it not required from him not to make tackles also?   Well he made 1 and missed 3.   That coupled to his 2 possession losses made him a joke.
So lets get real.   Vermeulen carried the ball 11 times, making 23 meters.  Two carries of the  11 represented  a gain of 22 meters.  The other 9 carries he went straight down making about 1  meter.
De Klerk
His one passing error cost the Springboks 7 points - the penalty he gave away another 3 points.
His inaccurate kicking remains a problem - too often the kicks could not effectively be followed up and the recipient was under no pressure - it was the means for handing over possession.
Am
He tried to copy the atrociously poor tackling of  Mostert and Vermeulen.   He made 5 tackles and missed 3.  He carried the ball 4 times for a  meter gain of 4 meters.    Toothless in attack and toothless on defense.
Kolisi
About as bad a loosie as Vermeulen was, especially in defe nse.
So who did you blame falsely:-
*   The starting pair was strong in scrumming and was no problem at all.   Proof - Moody could only prevent even faster backwards move by three tines resting on his elbow,   Nyakane was poor and ultimately replaced by Malherbe after which the last scrum in the game really proved what really happened.
*    The normal excuse had to be found to deal with the issue of the Du Toit try.  According to you he did not break two tackles in the process.   Oops caught out for misrepresentations again.
*     Other than 2 mistakes leading to tries, the team as a whole was competitive.
Another Meyer misrepresentation by you as expected,    You will never ever learn anything about rugby.   I will rub it in - Meyer's selection alone was a disaster,  The best loosie in four games played was by a huge distance Labuschagne?  Why was he allowed ever to play for Japan?  Meyer's  huge failing proven again.   You  heading mentioned the Erasmus formula = problem is Meyer had NO formula ever.
Happy Distortion and Liar Day to you.

Well let me respond: 1 Mostert was the best lineout forward on the park.....his defence was excellent barring a miss on Brown in space....he never rushed out of position like Dud Toit did in the Bridge try. Dud was also way in front of his defensive line in the Barrett try.....he made a tackle eventually, but by then Kolbe came inside and the overlap was there. Mostert also didn't cede 2 penalties or lose the ball twice, like Dud Toit did.....worth 100 metres 2 Vermeulen didn't have his best game, but was our only forward runner with any sting. 3 Agreed on de Klerk, he should have been subbed way earlier. 4 Am was toothless, but so was Kriel, who made no tackles at all. 5 Kolisi was hopeless as I have consistently been saying. 6 Our starting scrummagers were a total neutral.....no pressure on NZ ball. When the Beast came on we finally had loosehead pressure. 7 DudToit did not break 2 tackles in scoring his try....he was wide open after the pick and go, Barrett had stupidly fanned to the right. The pick and go was well done, by both Dud and Etzebeth who had the nous give Dud the ball and not place it back. 8 The team was competitive other than conceding two tries......typical loser think. We lost the game again Awgoostun, it may be good enough for you....but that's because you're one of life's losers. 9 HM was a disaster.....but he lost to a much better AB team by 2 points, not10. Well I guess that covers all your mistakes moron.

Strzok

Lets get this straight - the distortions continue - so let me illustrate why I claim that.

1.   Mostert did not miss only one tackle - he missed 4 - or is ESPN lying again?   He was tackled backwards in the line-outs after reaching the ground a number of times.  Best line-out forward - you make me laugh.  The AB's targeted him in line-outs and it worked perfectly for them.  He carried the ball 8 times making 1 meter 0 is that now equivalent to a hundred meters?  Stupid comment if I may say so.

2    Vermeulen the only flyer with forward run with sting -- the AB's will enjoy that joke.  LOL - if you call that carries making on average 2,1 meters per carry sting - heaven help us.

3    Finally agreement on something I wrote

4    So Am was toothless and suddenly Kriel  is brought in so go and see why you are again distorting what happened by looking what ESPN stats indicated as to ball carries.   De Allende showed some sting and it was totally misleading what you wrote.

5   We all know Kolisi is a political selection - totally out of depth in tough tests

6    No Mozart - the AB scrum frequently had problems in the first half - if you did not see it - your eyesight was blinkered.   They constantly went back - albeit slightly and they should have been penalized at least three times as I mentioned in respect of Moody.   Also the first really strong scrum - where the referee was forced to penalize the AB's came when Malherbe returned to play - the last one.

7    So Etzebeth is to get  the credit for the try scored by Du Toit?   When did Du Toit broke the two tackles he is credited with by ESPN  if not on the way to score the try?   The first miss was immediately when he broke through the maul and the second one was before he reached the tryline.

8     A total misrepresentation of what I wrote as expected,   Other than two mistakes - one by De Klerk and another by Mostert - the team as a whole was competitive.  The players I listed did not bring their part at all and that includes Vermeulen and Am, but the other players did.

9    Meyer's one major shortcoming and yours as well - relates to his team selection.  I mentioned Labuschagne.   You always referred to "Liggies"  not being a test level player, but it took only two tests to prove that he is and should have played for the Springboks for years.   I laughed out loud.   In two tests Labuschagne made more meters in carrying of balls than Alberts made in 43 tests and in both the tests he made more tackles than Alberts ever did in any individual test.  Alberts routinely made 6 or 7 tackles per game and fluffed some as well - mostly crucial misses in games where it affected outcomes.   He in one test made 13 tackles - bit that w as outside of his routine,     Also in two tests  Labuschagne made more turnovers than Alberts made in his whole career as a rugby player.  Quiet about that issue - hey?   Meyer had no game plan at all - and how many tries did the Springboks score in the test you are referring to?

So have a nice day and think carefully about what you write on site in future.  LMAO.

Let me help you again Awgoosun......I said conceding possession twice and being penalized twice as Dud did, is like gifting 100 metres to the opposition. Mostert was money in the lineouts....what game were you watching. Vermeulen made the break past Savea that created the opportunity for a Kolbe try if Willie's pass was decent. Allende and Kriel were toothless. All the power in our scrum came from the loosehead, Malherbe just kept his feet. Dud broke no tackles on the way to his try, his pick and go showed good awareness....as did Etzebeth's hand off of the ball. 'Amazing there was no cover there at all' said the commentator. Both AB tries came after Dud broke away from his defensive line. The first try came after Malherbe was beaten by Barrett. The second try saw Brown run in front Vermeulen and then step round Marx, who made no tackle attempt. By the time Mostert realized Marx wasn't going to defend, Brown was almost past him. Mostert made a great effort unlike the other two Liggies isn't fit to tie Alberts' boots and bluster on, but we were much closer to beating the ABs in WC 2015. HMs plan after Japan was no different from Eraser's plan, except F du Preez was better at making it happen than Faf.

You are indeed a prejudiced  idiot and what you wrote now is utter garbage,   Totally ignoring how Mostert were manhandled by the AB's in lineouts is a joke in bad taste.  Even Denny realized it - you don't

I expected from you and Comey will somehow manage to blame Du Toit for the two tries scored  by the Aussies,  You managed it - but make huge fools  of yourselves again.  Like in the case of the Sanchez story a few weeks ago Mostert missed a routine tackle so you blame Du Toit for it in both cases.

I really enjoy it that Labuschagne .showed you up as a total rugby illiterate.    How was Alberts . ever a loosie - always beat me.  He was a slow prop pretending to be a loosie.   So lets take a few examples:-

*    In 43 tests played you yourself claimed his average gain in distance gained was 2,2 meters per carry.   As far as I am concerned  his average meter gain was 1,8 meters per carry.  So lets accept the 2,2 meters per carry.   He played in 43 tests so voila - the total meter gain was say 95 to 96 meters,   In two tests Labuschagne  gained over 100 meters,

*    Alberts never knew the meaning of the term "ball protection and recovery" and  even though Lizatjie claimed that he did once in 2013 make a turnover  I never saw ONE in his whole career.  Labuschagne  made three in his last two tests,   Anyway Alberts' ball protection and recovery was mostly make-believe since he was too slow to get to breakdowns in time to do that and he even get near to such points he mostly was content to stand behind and hope to get the balls to make his spectacular 2 meter carries,

*    Labuschagne made more tackles yesterday and in the SA test than Alberts routinely made in 5 tests.

I am not blustering - I am stating facts.   You are the blustering one making a  huge fool of yourself all the time.                 ,

How many times did we see Mostert get smashed backwards?

Once at 07:11 when he was double tackled.

He (Mostert) was tackled backwards in the line-outs after reaching the ground a number of times.

Not once. Mostert's lineout takes are at 30:28, 56:05 (steal), 57:20 and 67:24. Show me where he was "tackled backwards".

He also made a 5m carry 07:56. Nothing major, just shows you the fallibility of stats which has him at 1m.

Of the 12 box kicks I counted Faf making, we only regained possession 3 times. The field kicks by Willie and Pollard didn't result in much better, with only Kolbe's clean catch at 02:33 a clear win.

Do you understand anything at all.   Did you not noticed that instead of a driving maul their was a tackle breakdown in a number of  line-outs and it took a while before the Springboks managed to recoverr the ball.

I never wrote about the kicking game - but the kicking in the game was inaccurate and aimless in general - Faf in particular was seriosuly disappointing.   Before the game i said kickikibg against the AB's wuld be the wrst option to take.

Mostert was his usual physical liability. How many times did he get carried backwards with ball in hand. Mostert is useless at test level and Rassie needs to wake up to this fact very fast. His two missed tackles have lead to tries one against the Argies and now one against NZ the guy is the biggest liability in the side by some distance If he had actually taken the trouble to bulk up over the years he might have been a handy player given his heart and work rate. But unfortunately it’s all huff and puff with limited productivity.

Only lineout 30:28, where Mostert was sacked while in the air by Reid. He still manages to cleanly transfer the ball to Kolisi, who transfers to Marx.

Marx has it at the back but it can't come out quickly because Scott Barrett is lying over the top of the ruck interfering.

56:05 Mostert steals the ball and wins us a penalty.

57:21 & 67:28 both mauls, no one going backwards.

Your claim of tackled backwards in the line-outs after reaching the ground a number of times is nonsense.

Why is neither Vermeulen nor Marx getting any heat for not even attempting a tackle on LB even though they were closer to him than Mostert? Mostert in a full dive managed to get one hand to LB's right upper thigh. Not many will make that stick.

I am really surprised by your deduction.   According to your photo  - Du Toit was actually the one to blame for not tackling the guy he did tackle and not tackling Barrett as well.   Whether you like t or not - on the day Mostert missed 4 tackles - one on Barrett.   So rather blame Vermeulen and Marx - or better still Du Toit and De Allende for not tackling Barrett. .  That would be your normal style since previously you and Strzok blamed Du Toit for both AB tries being scored anyway.

Oh what crap Mostert missed two tackles which cost us tries - that’s a fact - no excuses. As for his ball carries they are pathetic, he never carries the ball forward for he simply is not physical enough to do so. He was driven back a good few times. I recall one Mostert positive and that was a line out steal for the rest he is a liability in the engine room. We need physical imposing locks not a lightweight fairy who is all heart and energy and no substance We want to dominate the physical battles and set pieces then get a real lock to partner Eben

He was driven back a good few times.

No, he was driven back once in a double tackle by S Barrett and Sam Cane at minute 07:11 (and Steph, for example, was driven backwards at 51:50 by Tuipulotu, it happens to everyone occasionally if the defender gets a good hit on them).

If you don't rate him, that's fine, he isn't the most physically imposing forward out there, but don't make up stuff that didn't happen to back up your view.

The real physical lock idea is negated by Dud Toit playing flank. These guys reverse roles in the loose play Dud is the first tackler and Mostert tackles wider. As things stand Mostert is a superb lineout forward, and he papers over a lot of gaps in our weird loosie combination. If we want two monster locks ....we need 2 mobile loosies.

Two mobile loosies should come from 6 and 8. It makes perfect sense to have a big physical forward at 7, meaning you should ALWAYS have two physical brutes at lock. There should be no compromise to that script. Choose a Mostert at lock then don’t expect to dominate the sides the best sides out there Pakie you fuckwit - I have made nothing up, Mostert got his arse kicked in contact as he always does
