The expectations of the Welsh??

After the 2011 WC in NZ...the Welsh (being a very young side) were the rugby nation that I expected to take the rugby world by storm. They were indeed unlucky and lost 2 games against SA and France due to reffing blunders.

 

I do not really follow Welsh rugby as close as perhaps some forum members here but it remains a mystery to some people why they have not taken the world by storm (despite winning the 6 N twice in a row in 2012 & 13). They indeed lost to Japan this year....can you believe it...albeit most of their key players were in the Lions side on tour in Australia.

 

Are they getting unpredictable and could they upset us in Cardiff (never easy place to play...probably the best home atmosphere for rugby in the world).

 

Wales must be respected...afterall their anthem "Bread of Heaven" must have some symbolic meaning?

 They do indeed have some good players on paper. Especially in the backs and there loose trio are pretty good as well . They also represented most of lions team that gave the aussies a hiding. 

 Seb,  the Welsh have only ever beaten the Boks once in history, in 1999, so it will be a mental hurdle for them to get over if anything. The last 5 matches have been close though.It's like the Boks vs ABs at present....the Boks have a mental block and don't actually believe they can win against the ABs; hence them giving away 2 good leads in the last 2 games in SA. They just can't close those games out no matter how hard they try!

Moolaa: yes but in the case of the Boks mental block it is firmly based reality. Nice to see at least their players are not delusional

 Some perspective. The Welsh were nothing special in the world cup, we had an on-field injury crisis and they capitalised, even scoring a try through blatant forward pass. Their next two best opponents only had 4 or less days to recover after playing the Boks.... they were dead on their feet! They were rightly dumped out by France. They went on a really bad slump and have never lived up to the hype at all. But that doesnt mean they cant beat us because meyer doesnt have a strong pack and will select badly in the backs. they'll get trashed by both australia and new zealand though even if both are over-rated.
