So there you have it definitive proof. I picked Pollard well ahead of the tests as the man to take over at 10.....the first to do so. Admittedly even I underestimated how ready he was, and go on to say he should start by playing off the bench behind Frans. But still that ends the debate.
Game set and match.

Lambie and Reinach? Sorry I have to disagree. Pat is good off the bench, or for the odd game....but he can't sustain it. Witness S15 2013 where he faded after starting quite nicely.
Reinach is fast and dangerous in open field, but he kicks poorly and is a weak decision maker. Witness his poor display against WP a few weeks back
Pollard is mentally strong....that's what distinguishes him from Lambie, Goosen and Jantjies. Who his partner should be is unresolved at this point.

Imbecile, the archives don't go far enough to to see what Dave said about him.

I just showed you what Dave thought about him in May. Who cares what hethought in 2012. This isn't about who spotted him first, it's about who said he is our best prospect first.
Game over.

Fine, but Lambie played his first game as Bok 10 in 2011. It's three years later, he is hardly a new thing. BB you point to his off the bench performances, which were good against Oz...and he landed a stunning kick against the ABs. I prefer to look at his whole game performance in the S15 semi which was hardly stellar. Nor was he any good against Scotland last year when he got the starting role. To me he seems better off the bench.

Moffie you idiot, it's about who spotted him first not who called for him to be the Bok starter. You were no sooner in calling for him to start for the Boks than the majority of supporters.
I said the lad had Bok written all over him as an 18 year old. When he actually makes it is of little consequence.
I made the same calls about Etzebeth, PSDT and Serfontein to name but some.
Of this year's Baby Boks my calls were Pollard again, du Toit, Marx, Esterhuizen and Jessie Kriel

Who cares what you thought in 2012 when you rated Pollard no better than Swiel in May 2014. What an imbecilic call.

I see no whining. I see two mopes who thought I couldn't produce the goods trying to move the goalposts instead of just begging me to forgive their bad manners. I always knew we would end up here...and a lot of wriggling on the hook would ensue.

Stop talking tripe about Lambie and Reinach. "Witness S15 2013 where he faded after starting quite nicely." Lambie was injured for most of Super 125 and was ruished back - because Steyn was so poor at flyhalf. He played his first game after a long lay-off against the Crusaders in the semi and did not have the ppoor game u=you alleged he had.
Lambie0/068/9/54811026/40/000/0
Lambie missed too many tackles in that game - but still less than Steyn missed on average when playing at flyhalf. For the rest he had a good enough game - he did not fade as alleged. In any event it was his first game after a long lay-off and obviously not an easy return game.
As to Reinach you hav been trying to besmirch his name for a long time now and wen asked when he failed in the semi-final - you did not describe when and where his poorplay happened - so it is cler you lied about that game. His stats were as follows:-
Reinach0/007/26/74414126/10/010/0
One thing is for sure - when you dislike a player he can do nothing right in your eyes. There is nothing that you have proven against any of Lambie ad Reinach - bar your one-eyed prejudice you have against moist younger players.

Dear oh dear....do you think this is 2013? As for him being rushed back in 2014, everybody was raving about 10 minutes he played in the previous game....he was in fine fettle then. Now suddenly he was rushed back.

No they don't, what Dave said about Pollard goes back to 2012 which is too far away for the archives. Even attempting through Google'ing a thread topic won't work because it was on the old website.
27 Oct 2014, 13:53#17
Wrong again. Both your buddies said that Pollard is useless in 2012, 2013 and then as recently as May 2014, Dawie Kabouter had us believe that Pollard is behind Goosen, Lambie and even Swiel in the pecking order. Give it up, mate.

Forgot to take your Ritalin again ou Dawie, nor is it Prozac?

You can't access the old site you moron. Now to educate a pre-historic bell end.
This site has records that go as far as 2013. So when you Google something along the lines of a thread that was created on the old site in 2013 it will come up. This doesn't happen for posts earlier than this period.
What Dave said about Pollard following the 2012 JWC can not be found because of this.
Re-read this because I'm not repeating. Witless drone.

OK
Lets go back tp the 2012 JWC and rthe drama that followed that WC. In the first game against Ireland the flyhalf was Tony Jantjies - and if ever there wwas a flyha;lf who competed twith Morne Steyn to bugger up games - it was Jantjies. Pollard was brought in the next game and the whole scenario changed. People who watched the JWC games were impressed and Pollard was very good. Mozart saw none of the games. At that stage there were frequent discussions on Pollard on this site - and Mozart did not aprticipate in any of those other than to write of potential players who were inpressive in the JWC.
Shortly thereafter the palava about Pollard's signing by the Bulls followed where a number of people argued about Pollard and his future - again no comments from Mozart as he does not believe any player is good enough at the age of 18 to receive any attention from him.
In 2013 he played for Pretoria University in the Varsity Cup competition - ofthn enough at inside center - and for the Bulls in the Vodacom Cup - also at either 10 or 12. In essence at that time Pollard's p[erformances were a bit disappointing for some of us who had high hopes for him and said so in postings on this site. Some wrote that he did not show the expected progress after his very good start in the 2012 JWC, At the time there was no comment to the contrary from Mozart - who did not even know about a player called Pollard. Matter of fact the factual comments made at the time is now bing used by Mozart to doiscredit members who continuousy watched Pollard as a potential future Springbok. In the 2013 JWC he also alternate between the 10 and 12 position - and we did not reach the final. I would say at that stage he was slightly above averae in performances,
2014 started off in the same vein insoofar as Pollard is concerned, but he was markedly better than the year before in the Varsity Cup games. Not much is known about his Vodacom Cup performances - but after the demise of Fouche he was at times on the Bulls bench in Super 15. In April this year - he started to come off the bench to play at 10 and that is when Mozart first became aware of him. He was most impressive in teh 2014 JWC as well.
Pollard was most impressive when he came on for the Bulls in Super 15 and in the JWC and Mozart suddenly had a braiwave - not because Pollard was so good - but because he saw a future option at flyhalf (ie from 2016) to take over from his preferred flyhalfs - Francois and Morne Steyn. His hatred of Goosen and Lambie was the main reason for that comment.
Mozart did not discover Pollard - he did not rate him as well. He thought he may be good eough to take over as flyhalf in 2016. When Pollard's name came to the fore - there was no rating done by anybody - definitely not by Mozart. If any rating was done - it would not have been for some time in future - but for more immediate prospects.
The most damning recent comments of Mozart was that Morne had to win the Salta game for the Springboks and he was perfectly happyto support Morne's selection for the Aussie test.
Now that Pollard seems to be first choice at flyhalf - Mozart's explosion of support occurred after being lukewarm earlier. The same happened with Etzebeth - the moment Bakkies Botha was selected fro the EOYT in 2013 - Mozart's support for Etzebeth vanishd into thin air and after the Scotland test the raving review on Bakkie 's performance was on this site within half and hour.
Yime to stop the jabbing about this one.
