THE FINAL WORD...

With all this chest beating going on from the likes of World Champ and others, I thought I might sum it all up and give you something to think about...

World Champ hates the Boks and all things South African. That is no surprise. He especially hates me and Beeno simply because we see right through him and dont stroke his ego. Personally, I think his time would be better spent having an honest talk with himself and ask himself the question, "Is the All Blacks as great as I think they are!"

Surely if this man answers yes to that, he is a danger to society because he should really be thinking along the lines of, how is it that a "great" pack filled with experienced MEN get so badly outplayed by a grossly inexperienced team of KIDS home and away this year that only poor execution and goal kicking ensured our win. I use the word kids not for age, rather for experience as a unit. A little more scary now that you are thinking straight isn't it WChump?

SA lost. Yes we did and we would be fools if we thought otherwise as the scoreboard is ultimately where it counts but we lost in Dunedin but were not beaten, we were beaten in Soweto but that was due to a poor defensive display in second half coupled with playing the best backline in the world currently. We will not deny that the AB's have the best backline but the Boks usually have great defence and players to return from injury that will ensure our attack is more potent. Those are issues we need to work on but believe they will come good. Heynecke is no idiot. He took the Bulls from rags to riches and re-invented them and they were scoring some beautiful tries. He needs time. Just like with the Bulls.

Lets focus on how "great" the AB's really are. You are 6 from 6 in the championship. Great outcome but was it as champagne as that record looks.

Game 1 - Aussies had no idea. Beale had an absolute shocker and so did many others but still, the Aussies were within a try of winning.

Game 2 -Aussies were even worse. 22 - 0 flattered the Aussies but the opportunity was there to really put them away. They were worse than Argentina and NZL put 50 against them.

Game 3 - Argies in Wellington. Nice tactic to slow the game down with the lights and all that but what was established from that game was not, gee whizz, AB's are great..It was rather My word how good are the Argies.

Game 4 - The one AB's most deserved to lose...They didnt beat the boks. The boks beat themselves. No "great" AB team is that comprehensively outplayed in Dunedin of all places.

Game 5 - Good performance against an Argie team that adopted the wrong tactics. They tried to be expansive and catch the AB's unaware but it played into their hands

Game 6 - A grind. Nowhere in the 1st 40. Some inexplicably poor defence in the back division handing AB's their 6th win.

What is even more phenomenal about these games is you would swear they were strength on strength classic test matches.. Australia and South Africa were fielding players that would not have a shoe in at the moment had it not been for injuries. This was an uber experienced AB's team taking on teething Aus and Bok outfits and and Argies team that had never played 6 games in a row against this quality opponent..Now I ask you with tears in my eyes..WHAT IS GREAT ABOUT THAT! If anything, you AB's supporters need to be honest with yourselves and realise that if this carries on, you will be lucky to be semi-finalists in 2015...

As Justin Marshall said last night..SA had a max exodus due to retirement and injuries but are well into their rebuilding phase, AB's still need to start that because they are going to experience the same thing very shortly. Marshall also doubts Richie will be the same player after a sabbatical...Couple that with Carter and the panick begins!

So I leave you with this...The AB's are far from great. Great teams would have put SA and Aus away this year. They are merely better than what we have at the moment...JUST!!!

Now I will have guys write their "fall back" line here of, "this is the biggest load of dribble I have ever read!" but spare it guys. Just have a good, honest think about that...

 A miserable 16 point margin against the Springflops and a 22 point margin against the Oz.

You're right Logic, the Abs are crap and I'm going to find a better team to support; one that can put GOOD teams away. I'm trying to choose between the 6 Nations teams, Argentina and OZ as my new team. The rest are just 3rd tier nations!

I read this with interest and in essence I agree with some of the points raised by you.   I still believe that at this stage the All Blacks is the best team in the world.   I have tried  to find a reason for the up and down tendencies in test matches - and that caused world champs to reponse in a totally illogical manner.   The debate I got into with him  led nowhere - even though some of the other New Zealand posters agree with me about some points raised by me.

However, what I really find distateful and even disgusting is the apparent delight of him in the fact that Goosen got injured - and his usage of the injury issue to attack the capacity of the player to perform.   I have never become elated by an injury to any player - either one from SA or from any country in the world.   Whenever I dealt with the injury issue I would try to find reasons for injuries and recovery time - incidentally I gave my summary on the Goosen injury on the same basis. 

I have no objection to members on this site to support their respective teams.   However, I have objected to some posters attacks of people - in one case where a SA member expressed disgusting and unfounded  slurs on people from New Zealand and another case for a New Zealand supporter attacks on SA.   I think it is totally unacceptable to attack a player and his capacity  on the basis of delight  because the player was injured.   

In essence I think there is no human on earth that is perfect in every respect - and that includes rugby players - even if they play for New Zealand - so lets leave it at that.

 Sheesh. I've been calling goose a talentless fraud for months now. My opinion of him didn't suddenly change because he was injured. If anything I should be commended for my consistent and accurate criticisms of goose rather than admonished for highlighting the screamingly obvious ( to those of us with a modicum of rugby nous). Once again the plutzing fanboys have blurred the line between reality and fantasy and concocted some fictitious fairy tale to justify their bitterness and rabid fury at all things kiwi. Lol.

You really are a joke.   A 20-year olf player play international rugby on test level for 129 minutes in total - and suddenly you start shouting he is a fraud.   Nobody ever said he was perfect .  He came on for 10 minutes against Australia  and change the play of the dormant backline.   Then he played in Dunedib for 10 minutes and broke the line twice.   Then he played for 70 minutes in Pretoria against Austrlalia and had by all accounts a good game.

Read got shitscared and said they will target him in the Soweto test - which they did and the player get injured early,

Now suddenly he is a fraud - but even in Soweto he did not bugger up - like Carter who kicked out of touch two kick-ins.    There is no perfect player in the world - but even at his age  he has done very well - and he will get better with more expereience.   Fraud - my ass.

We are talking about the AB team this year that your fanboys seem to think are "great" but have nothing to back it up with. You beat an injury ravaged Bok and Aussie team with a full strength and hell of an experienced NZL team. Does that make you great considering the only place you beat the Boks was on the score board. You did not beat us in forward play therefore you are not the great, complete team you guys chest beat about.

Moolaa mentions the scores above which, considering the caps and experience each team has, the AB's should not be too happy with that. As Beeno says all the time, lets break the game down and not worry about the score board. Thats how you disect rugby matches, not just the score board. We never said New Zealand was not better than the Boks right now. We all know they are. We are talking about them being great or not great in this instance. Half your fella's problems are you dont read properly. I have said it before, how were we expected to win when we lost our leader John Smit, Bismarck, Bakkies, Victor Matfield, Schalk Burger, Juan Smith, Pierre Spies, Heinrich Brussouw (thats a whole pack right there), Fourie Du Preez, Frans Steyn (last test), Jacque Fourie, Bjorn Basson and JP Pietersen all in one year all at one time. Give us all or injuries back and put the shoe on the other foot so guys like Mealamu, Hore, Retalick, Sam Whitelock, Messam, McCaw, Read, Vito, Aaron Smith, Ma'a Nonu, Conrad Smith, Julian Savea, Cory Jane where all out...Would you hold that full strength Bok team to just 16 points and beat them in every facet of the game bar the score board at home??  BOK logic....mm seems like an oxymoron anyway, for a rugby fan I guess...by going by your comments you missed the entire RWC because if you did then you would have better knowledge of the AB who won ever game and the last 16 or did that slip your simple mind. Worst think for your Bok team is AB have said there still learning and have to further improve.....God what does that mean???? It means by the time your team even comes close to catching up we've created other dimension and evolved from the stage were currently at so AB will still be the bar setters, the team that other team try's to replicate

see unlike other teams we dont need to copy or duplicate there skills we initiate them. Threw either individual brilliance or team work. And Hansen is no fool he's been around international level for some time so he too like the players have a thing called experience. Not a limited experience he knows when things work and when they don't. Well have to wait and see with your coaching staff have the same ability, at the moment very hard to tell.

I don't know if you could say they are great at the moment but you would have to say we have been fortunate to witness the greatest 10 year era in the history of Rugby.  During this time the All Blacks have won a staggering 126 out of 144 teast matches at 87%  I would suggest you would find it hard to find a winning % in any sport by any team in the world that have a World Cup or series tournament.  Also during this time a large number of tests have been played against the second 2nd and 3rd top teams (54) making this winning % even more remarkable. Not to mention holding onto the Bledisloe Cup for this entire time and winning 6 Tri Nations and the inaugral Rugby championship and or course The World Cup among many other trophys.  The run is still continuing and of course it won't last forever but will we ever see a cycle like this again?  This has all been achieved in the professional error by a small country with less money and a smaller player base than the other main rugby playing nations.

So I think we should step back and give some credit to an incredible cycle in sport.  One in which we have all be fortunate to witness and salute THE GREATEST era ever.  All Blacks we Salute You!

Thanks for a very good posting.  Let me add I think that the All Blacks is by far the best team in the World - if we do not try and learn from them we would indeed be morons,   They have contributed to all the teams in the world how to play rugby - the finer skills required for really good performance.

There are other posters from SA that diiffer from me about the above - but I normally do not take too much notice about their rantings - other than to laugh about their less intelligent garbage.   However, you are an asset to this Board - because you write logical deductions purely based on the game of rugby - nothing else.

I do at times take exception to some of the contributions from members of this site - as you could easily see from what was said by nukefreekiwi above.   World Champs have gone ballitic and brycy is good for a laugh all the time.   Keep it up - please - you are an asset to this site.

We may differ about some issues and agree on others.   I still think the All Blacks are very good, but not perfect in every sence of the world.   So I will continue to point out there minor problems and hope for sensible comments.

By the way apparently World Champs is in seventh heaven because Goosen got injured.   I worry about his injuries and has written elsewhere that he was playing top rugby far too early - he should have started on Super and international level after say the age of 21 - not at 19.  Need substantial physical improvement still.   However, he had the exact same injury as Bismarck Du Plessis had and he circumstances was the same - he tackled another player and somebody fell on his leg after the tackle was completed.   That is a pure accident - nothing else.   The injury in fact occurred about 10 minutes  after commencment of the game - and he stayed on for another circa 10 minutes.   Should not have remained on the field though.   

I thought Goosen showed incredible courage to get up and attempt to tackle Whitelock as he was only back there in there first place cos he wsa down receiving treatment for his injury during the build up to that try.

I like your postings and always tried to debate things with you on a reasonable and gentlemanly level.   I do not agree with some things written by some members and said so openly.   However, I did criticize some recent postings by you - because they are really disparaging players and said so clearly.   I do recognise the truth in what you said - but not your apparent delight because Goosen was injjured - that is what I called bad taste.

Have you ever seen what I said about Beeno's contributions - some of his comemtns are really jokes in bad taste  - so lets leave it at that.   Please be more polite and less abrassive and we will all appreciate your viewpoints much more. A bit of some objectivity on issues will also help tremendously.

Given the poor display by the abs against a very average French side and there can be no doubt at all we would have thumped the abs had we met. As it was France were shafted by our own Craig Joubert! France were clearly the better side

abnz please get real about your performances. Everything has a context. OZ were rebuilding wirth a very young side. The Boks had just fired Jake White who had put together a very good side (plus great emmerging talent) and they appointed the biggest clown to ever coach a test nation  - ou pdv. Had White contiued it is doubtful you would have won a test match against us over those 4 pdv years. You burgled the wc and you got a thumping in Dunedin. We lost that game by misisng 9 shots at goal and bungling a few try scoring opportunities. You pack was demolished and your backs neutralised. You were completely outplayed.

 O.k Boklogic. You want my honest opinion on your....initial statement. THE FINAL WORD. I believe that NZRU have a cumulative pool, a wealth of experience of successful coaches,staff and test veterans who not only combine but utilize there expertise and background working together to insure the success of the All Blacks. Bringing together such skill and knowledge is a extremely powerful tool. With there help can develop the skills necessary to shape and develop and mold new players to out preform any test side help from the likes of Meads. Lahore,Fitzpatrick, Buck, Henry, selectors like Grant Fox who recognize potential and raw talent.  People willing to do anything to keep the highest standard as long as they still have breath in them. Men willing to die for a black jersey with a silver fern on it. People never turn there backs on the All Blacks, Creating a legacy, a brotherhood that develops a passion that young players witness on there t.v or right in front of there eyes that sparks a fire a burning to be a All Black. And become all they can be. As long as NZ keep going out on the field and dig deep within themselves to represent not only the current team but represent the men who wore it before them do it justic.. Be the best  that's all we want is to be the best.

 Yea...stats are there to see, maybe YOU do youself and NZ and the rest of SArugby a favor and look at the stats, start with IRB ratings then move onto NZ stats then try NZ vs SA stats. They go back way before you were hatched and there not going to change much in the future. Mr Bean.
