Meyer is the master in flop selections. His first choice lock selection - Flip van der Merwe is always a gamble insofar as his discipline is concerned - he is always a real penalty and card danger - as was proved last week in Cape Town.
His first choice being eliminated - he now goes for his second flop Kruger. This one is in, because he can call line outs and organise the defence on ball kick ins by the opposition -eg take over the roll of the VC - that is according to Meyer supported by Mozart. His line out jump record is poor and when a critical ball is thrown to him - like last Saturday in Cape Town he knocks it on - ie he flops badly - therefore he is to be known in future as Flop Kruger. In any event he has no grunt and a is a poor scrummager. So we will suffer in the scrums and can write off mauls as a weapon.
Flop Franco is in all respects equivalent to Flop Kruger - also devoid of any grunt. Same problems in line-outs, scrums and mauls.
Why is it that Meyer always stick to the squad he selected for the EOYT last year - with the rare exception of Le Roux????????? A FURTHER HANDICAP TO THE SPRINGBOK SIDE IS IN EVIDENCE.
