The French and Nono

i really dont know where nonus future is lying TBH, when considering all the variables involved.

on the one hand nonu is the All Black incumbent easy, he is as good as guaranteed to make the All Black 23 for all its top games from now til the RWC final, such is his value to the team.

but he has no spXV team and SBW is almost certain to return in 2014, so leaving for france now might not be a bad idea, considering if SBW does return, IMO it will be SBW who will be the incumbent 12 come the 2014 EC/4nats if not earlier.

nonu hasnt gotten too many years left in him, but he has had stints in japan, ricoh ram president said nonu was a delight to work with and was a real crowd attraction for the club.

so he could always go to japan to play out his career.

really dont know what hes going to do, but i hope he stays in NZ, a midfield combo of nonu/smith/SBW will ensure the All Blacks have the best midfield regardless of the combo heading into the RWC.

not true about the clubs not wanting him, highlanders have stated many times they would gladly take him and thats where i think nonu should go too.

chiefs said they would be interested but SBW is the clubs priority and the other three are the only clubs to have expressed a lack of interest.

i say fire cockhead hammet, make tana umaga coach and bring back the hurricanes culture, not this two bit bob fake crusaders culture they tried to install at the hurricanes.

It's really hard to understand all this story about Nonu.
He's been the best 12 at test level for the last 5 years which means the best 12 of the game. And even though he doesn't show the same level at Super Rugby he's still one of the bests. It's true that his concentration level come down when he's not wearing the black jersey what makes him earn some yellow or red cards (as against the saders) that should be avoided but that's all. A lot of crap has been talked about him and the bad results of the teams he belonged to in the last years can not be blamed on him.

I cannot neither understand what the saders have made signing another 12 when Nonu is in the market and would very probably be a bargain.

If he finally moves to France it will be a big loss for the All Blacks.

agree completely, i have no idea why crusaders signed rey lee lo when nonu was available.

in saying that i have no idea why the hurricanes didnt just bury the hatchet with nonu and sign him back up, 12 was an area of weakness for the hurricanes in 2013 and it only started to come right in the end when rey became the 12 incumbent.
then again, cockhead hammet has proved himself to be a useless coach, so im not surprised one bit here.

going by the comments of i think it was tabai matson after the highlander saders game, the tackle on marshall left a pretty bad after taste which coupled with nonus super rugby history prob made rey leelo an even more attractive prospect.

cant help but feel that hammet is a crusader spy, got rid of two incumbent All Black players and lost a whole host of others thanks to that bullshit crusaders culture he tried to install.
he has dragged the hurricanes into the gutter and is in line for a frnachise record of no finals appearance and the hurricanes were once upon a time able to go toe to toe with the crusaders.

but back to nonu, it would be a big loss, he should just stay with the highlanders, repay jospehs kind words and generous offer by sticking with the highlanders and playing his ass of and keep SBW relegated to the bench, it would be the best way to give a big F U to all those other clubs.
