So from this board's statements, the gas tank thing is a fallacy, SA rugby forwards could stay 70 minutes in play without blinking or coughing. Match after match.

With so many points to be scored, SA rugby were shaken out of their usual patterns: they had to produce tries.

So they tried to achieve the goal by spending themselves way more than they are used to.

Nothing against AR players but they are the same ones who took x points against NZ while scoring 3. They were brave and determined, nothing more, nothing less.

First point first.

Despite spending themselves way more than usual, they failed to produce early in the game. Another tremendous difference with IR whose game plan included to score early (achieved over three games against NZ)

Spending themselves more does not improve the SA rugby lack of scoring skills.

The major lesson though was they were out of gas from 55 minutes on. There had been a strong decline in fitness.

Yet SA rugby supporters will keep claiming that the gas tank thing, that managing their stamina over a game is the predominant strategy, is a fallacy.

SA rugby forwards can play 70 minutes and must be chained up back to the bench as they still are so full of energy.

I have to agree with you on that one. That is why you need players that is battle hardened and can perform weak in and week out.

The thought of bringing in Jantjies, Duane etc were all dumb. Player who are performing should be roped in as soon as possible.

What is the point of these alignment camps then
