After todays performance we will have to improve massively to have a chance against England. I think Meyer would not pick De Jongh for anything - he today was up to the standard he was in Super 15 - absolutely harmless and in some respect a liability - eg that tackle he missed and the knock on. of the first ball he received.
Believe me - we are in serious trouble insofar as the props are concerned. Steenkamp lasted 15 minutes before he crumbled and he did NOTHING whatsoever outside the scrum. And then we have that other star prop Van der Linde. Just one question - how many penalties are a prop allowed per 15 minutes - he gave away a penalty in every scrum in that case.
Mind you Steenlamp managed slightly better. He was firm in three scrums and then the collapse followed after that. Meyer made a serious mistake with his selection of props and centers - end of story.
I said the Scottish game would be tight - we were bloody lucky about that intercept try of Strauss. Bar that we would have lost taking into accouny Van der Linde's star performance.

The interesting thing here, is the addition of Italy....who would not have featured historically. So the definition of Grand Slam changed....just as it did in golf. Nothing is cast in stone.
