With Vern Cotter getting the nod as the new coach of Scotland - it's time for a quick head count of Kiwi gaffas around the globe.

From the top 10 rugby nations (as ranked by the IRB), more than half have New Zealanders as head coach or in a prominent coaching roles. Cotter brings the tally to six.

Obviously Steve Hansen has the reins of the All Blacks (a foreign boss is unthinkable!) and Robbie Deans calls the shots for the Wallabies - but the Kiwi influence is now spreading to all corners.

World Cup winning coach Sir Graham Henry is into his second year with the rapidly improving Pumas. Although he isn't Argentina's top dog he certainly holds plenty of sway and this year's Rugby Championship should show the extent of that. He was also one of the first to cut the trail north, taking control of Wales in 1998 and becoming the first foreign coach of the British and Irish Lions in 2001.

A flood of New Zealand bred coaches have followed.

Warren Gatland has walked exactly the same path. The former All Black hooker has enjoyed Six Nations success with Wales and is about to embark on his first Lions tour to Australia. He'd already made a name for himself during his time in charge of Ireland before returning home for a brief stint with Waikato.

Ireland have appointed their second Kiwi coach in recent weeks with former Blues tactician Joe Schmidt taking up the position.

England too have had a taste of All Black influence when former mid-week captain John Mitchell oversaw the forwards under Clive Woodward.

It's hard to see the trend curtailing any time soon.

The queue for the top job in New Zealand rugby is set to grow even longer with Steve Hansen appointed through to the 2015 Rugby World Cup - and it's no given that his reign will end there.

Waiting in the wings are the country's Super Rugby coaches - and their pedigree is strong. Sir John Kirwan, already the former coach of two international sides and making a good fist of his first year at the Blues. Dave Rennie at the Chiefs has one southern hemisphere title under his belt and is poised for a second.

Todd Blackadder was rumored to be in the frame for the Scotland job and is continuing to hone his craft with the Crusaders.

Despite a dire 2013 season, Highlanders and New Zealand Maori coach Jamie Joseph also has impressive credentials.

Four into one doesn't go (five if Shag Hansen decides he wants another term), so expect to see more of our budding gaffas jump ship in what is one of our fastest growing export markets.

brycy the only queue that is going to grow is the queue of unemployed kiwi coaches. Did you read and understand my noteworthy post on Jake the master schooling both sirs graham and john? Even these two halfwits together couodnt outsnart Jake. Then also hHow about all the oz coaches schooling you oaks?

Its an export market that is surely in danger of crashing.

Beeno summing it all up very neatly.

Bean Brain try reading the article , You will find from out of the top rugby nations that only four more to go before Kiwis have total control of the world ... of rugby .

Only a few more heathen nations to convert  Bean Brain as we spread the gospel of rugby across the planet

You need to seek redemption soon Bean Brain and go the way of the Kiwi coach..That is the path to enlightenment...

Well, one thing that not even a dribbling moron like Baboon-ou can deny is that Joke White was Graham Henry's squealing little bitch.

Sasue, pretty hard for John Mitchell to win the 2012 Currie Cup since the Stormers won it that year!

Likewise, it would be pretty hard for the Stormers to win the Currie Cup if they don't play in the competition.

No team called the "Stormers" has ever taken part in the Currie Cup.

Western Province then. Typical, you have nothing to offer about the actual game but when in comes to a wrong term or stat you're on it like flies on shit, quite suitable phrase when made to coincide with you don't you think?

Thanks all the same but I do understand the difference between fact and opinion.

Opinion: I think you hate being corrected (note my use of the word "think" . . . that should be the give-away if you're still struggling with this).

Fact: The Stormers have never played in the Currie Cup.

Hope that clears it up.

Tell you what, when you actually make a decent contribution to conversation here I'll value and take what you say into consideration, but until you stop acting like a teenage girl who try's to cause drama I'm going to completely ignore you.

Kieran Crowley has been very good for Canada, especially with our backs. We have one of the best in the Pro12 right now, Van de Merwe, with a young up and comer in there as well, Taylor Paris. Phil Mckenzie, Matt Evans, and Connor Braid all play in the Championship in England, and Nathan Hiriyama is a hell of a 7's player.

When Canada has it's best team on the field ,and they are playing well, they're a fun team to watch. The difficult thing for Crowley is getting them all together.

Kieran Crowley . . . now there is a blast from the past!

Crowley was a member of the much-maligned NZ Cavaliers who toured South Africa in 1986 and he was a classy fullback . . . I think they used to call him "The Colt".

Interestingly, among his Cavalier team mates were highly respected current rugby coaches John Kirwan, Wayne Smith and Robbie Deans as well as the late chairman of the NZRU Jock Hobbs . . . not to mention legendary All Blacks like Grant Fox, Dave Loveridge, David Kirk, Murray Mexted, Andy Haden and Wayne Shelford. The team was managed by all-time greats Colin Meads and Ian Kirkpatrick!

All these years down the line and it seems anybody who is anybody in NZ rugby today was a member of that Cavaliers touring team!

saSUE please try and think a bit before listing reams of irrelavant stats. We all should know that Jake took over a mess and spent some time building the Boks. He also played  second string Bok side for a period before the world cup - wise move as it turned out.

By the time the Boks won the world cup he had the strongest team in the planet even allowing for pap matfield.

But then saSUE what happened? Jake was replaced by ou pdv the dumbest person ever to coach a test side never mind a club side. Had Jake been reappointed the Boks would have ruled world rugby for the next four years and the stats would look completely different.

Context saSUE context. Has ou saSUE the brain power to understand context is the question.

In the match between the Brumbies and blues there was widespread comment how jake got the tactics right etc. So to say the once school master schooled the two halfwits sir john and sir graham is very apt and factually correct.

As for ou rooitwirt his genuflections re the kiwis are nauseating to say the lest. Rooitwit you would be a severe embarassment to all Bok supporters but for the fact you are a known kiwi wannabee! Bwahahhahahahahahahaha - may as well come ot of the closet rooitwit!

Oh, was that the same strongest team on the planet that was humbled by the Barbarians a few months after the World Cup?

Do us all a favour and bring back your Storminged multi Beeno - you might make more sense when you're logged on as him...or her I guess.

pooooieplease try and see the bigger picture. How do I help this oak??? Pooooie consider how the abs would have fared with ou pdv as coach. You think about that boet. Show us you are not just a pretty face?

As for the highly acclaimed StormingEd - a legend in the minds of saSUE and pooooie (much like I am) - could you please provide some realistic evidence that I am StormingEd.

I wonder if Storming Ed will reappear here someday. Was he put off by the low brow humour of ou saSUE and pooooie I wonder. He looked to be a refined sort with a sharp intellect and insight.  We seemed to be on the same page. I can understand why saSUE and poooie could think like they do in some ways.

However as I said its evidence that we need. If there is none then its tickets oaks.

Shezza rule number 1 never take ou rooitwit seriously.

Rooitwit I can see you are very embarassed about Jake White and understandably so. Jake's record is immense when seen in context. The Brumbies must be delighted with him.

Oh how great was our loss when he was dismissed and ou pdv appointed. Four years at the top of world rugby were forfeited. Jake might even have been our coach right now with all that continuity . Rassie may have joined him.  Sir graham would not be Sir graham etc etc. Hawka would not have any WC burgler pictures to show us. How different the rugby world would have been!!!!!!
