The laws are it is the responsibility of the tackler when picking up the ball carrier in the air to ensure they do not land on their shoulder or head in a spear tackle. 

The difference Moz is that by the time Willie hit the ground his legs were practically horizontal so what started out looking like a spear tackle ended up fairly tame. Mind you, I never thought Warburton’s effort was worth a red anyway as he dumped the Frog on his back, not on his head. I notice none of you Bok supporters have mentioned Am’s hit (on Daly I think) early in the game. A great hit, but he thrust out his shoulder first a la Butch James’ style and never wrapped his arm around. Yellow methinks???
