I think that tackle stats are not the alpha and omega of analysis of defense it dies give an indication about the contribution of individual players and where they should improve in future.  


So lets look at the following:-


*  Kriel      =   10 tackles made and 5 missed

*  Pollard   =   11 tackles made and 7 missed

*  De Klerk =    9 tackles made and 5 missed


The problem with the above is that I would rather not see Kriel on the wing and Pollard at inside center again.   Insofar as the latter is concerned I think that with De Allende not available for the next two tests I would rather have Esterhuizen with all his questionable defense at inside center than Pollard and may even think that Willemse would be better in that position than Pollard would be.


I think that Willemse is likely to get a start against Australia at flyhalf with Pollard as back-up, but that would not answer the question as to the center issue.
