Its funny after hearing for a while about NZ wins being heavily ref assisted. SA get one with an assist from the ref. And its almost a ghost town on that front The last twenty NZ were clearly dominating, once again their supeior fitness lvls were clear . It was also clear that SA were fading. Just a bit of bad luck. In an other wise perfect defense SA were staring down another defeat. Initially their was nothing wrong with the Messam arm. It was a very physical game, Burger looked like he was going full in. But then last moment he slipped, and so did Messam. Not worth a penalty, and it wouldent of been if the crowd diddnt hv a mentle, and it wasent slowed down to mame it worser then it actually was. Crowd clearly put pressure on Barnes, and Lambie kicked a brilliant penalty. But im not gonna sit here and do a Benno and cry foul. Theirs an oppurtunity here for NZ fans to set a precedence. It was a very controversial decision that snatched victory from NZ. I just hate it when refs determine the outcomes of games. And effectively ruined the contest for both teams. But credit to SA, the first half was the best ive seen SA play in years. It really set them up for the win. NZ missing alot of players, really made a great comeback and should of wan if it wasent for some clumsiness from Messam, and Peterson on Kerr Barlow (NZ even had to finish the game with Slade at Halfback lol). So i dont think nz well be too dissappointed, SA well be happy they finnally got the W over NZ, albeit not on their terms. Clearly the two best sides in the world. Oh and Fyi please pretty please keep Matfeild in the Starting line up, the guy has no physicality and clearly could not handle the physicality and feriouscness of the All Blacks and test rugby.
