The following is the position in the three Pools:-
Pool A
England will definitely go through to the semis. They are likely to beat Argentina with a cricket score result and will end up with 15 points.
If the Aussies beat Italy with great ease and get a really big bonus point win against Italy they may just upset the apple cart and get the fourth position in the semi-finals.
England has exceptionally strong forward pack and the Aussies was just not god enough to match them in that Department of the game. A really good team that will compete strongly for winning the Cup.
Pool B
This is the pool of death for three competing teams - namely France, Ireland and Wales. France won both games played thus far and has 9 points. Each of Wales and Ireland has won one game, Wales is playing France in the final round and Ireland is playing Fiji.
If France beat Wales the competition is over, But Ireland can still get a semi position with a big enough win against Fiji. So that is another team that an force New Zealand into fifth position on the overall log.
Pool 3
South Africa has 10 points on the log already and is 9 points difference below England on the overall log. They have to play Samoa and even if they lose, they only need 1 bonus point to go through to the semis.
Share with England the dominant role in the competition thus gar and is likely to be either no 1 or number 2 on the overall log - depending on the result in the Samoan game.
Taking out South Africa from a place in the semis may be wishful thinking. SA beat Scotland by 56 points - New Zealand beat Samoa by 36 points and Samoa beat Scotland by 9 points. I hope the guys are not overly confident and make a mess of the Samoan game.
boklogic
As the situation is it is highly unlikely that SA will meet England in the semis- so you can be fairly sure that your seat for the Final will be a good investment.
