The Kings - Lions game.
Well done Lions!
Ou Maaik, I think your hatred of Jantjies is clouding your judgment somewhat. He may not have had the greatest season for the Stompies but tonight he was cool, clam and collected.
congrats to the lions, on hand back on the spXV wooden spoon, LMAO, :oP
will have to download this match later on so that i can watch it, if for nothing else then to watch janties given the conflicting reports, lolz.
bummer about franco, IMO hes quite a decent lock, thought he was great last year and even managed to become the incumbent in the sharks.
a kings loss in the second game could be a blessing in disguise for the stormers, as they would then be able to snap up caterkillis who many thought should never have left WP in the first place.
an alamgamated team between the lions and kings would be the way to go, i mean come on the name sells itslef, LMAO, :oP
but i will say this, its bullshit that the kings are even forced to play in a regulation match, they did more in their first year then the lions have in the past decade, they should have been given more time to try and adjust to the spXV and its clear that SARU always wanted them to fail from the get go.
I am just back from the Stadium. We may not have won the game but we (fans) have gees!
The Lions won, and congratulations to them, it was one hell of a fight. I still think the Kings played the better rugby, but in the end the scoreboard said we lost. It will be difficult to win at cocaine park but I am sure the guys will again give it their all. Forty or so players were used and every one of them played out of their skinss.
I am still of the opinion that the two teams should merge and use the best players from both. We are aware of the headache it will cause but that way SA can have a better chance in the SR competition.
I am in favour of the teams merging, but none of the Lions administration and incompetent management team should be included.
Even the Lions coaches must all get lost to have all decision making happening form Port Elizabeth.
If the teams merge, then all games should be played in PE,
or if any games are played in Johannesburg it should be for the benefit of the paying public fans, and not the muppits on the management and admin team.
The Lions were the most professional rugby club during the amateur era- 1993- 1995.
Since the advent of the professional era, the Lions have been the most amateur club in the world. They had a large budget but wasted this at every oppertunity to express their incompetence.
Every audit that has been completed has proved them to be a back water mis-managed comedy.
Feel sorry for the Kings but the only reason they got a chance was politics.
It was about BEEE empowerment as the agenda.
It was of course going to take time to develop talent from the local youth in the Eastern Cape, but the politicians have moved onto the next self serving interest they can find and forgotten about this.
Somehow I think that Johannesburg as the Capital of South Africa somehow benefits SARU more financially, than having PE in the competition.
Well done for the Kings this year, they have did South Africa proud.
It really baffles the brains how SARU could put a team under so much pressure.
First, only tell them they are playing in 2013 after the contractual period is over for local players, then limit foreign players, then go through with a playoff with a Lions team that has been crap for ages.
Back office stuff clearly, I think SARU have taken some bribes from the Lions. Their is money in Johannesburg, much more than PE.
As a WP supporter I got only a couple of things top say.
GO LIONS!
Smash those Arse kissers
Thanks for the report CM. Will watch the game later. Good to hear about Jantjies kicking at least - felt for the guy with his dad's passing and have to wonder how that affected his play this year.
