SA Rugby president Mark Alexander says separate Springbok teams could be selected for each hemisphere. One team would play matches in the southern hemisphere, and the other in the northern hemisphere. 'We play the best teams in Sanzaar week in and out at a high tempo and that is why, if you look at the last World Cup, 1-4 came from Sanzaar, but in Europe there are also good teams competing there. It is good rugby,' Alexander told SuperSport.com. 'We play our rugby in different hemispheres and in the future we can have horses for courses, guys who can play on slower pitches and guys who can play on faster pitches. 'We can pick horses for courses, like we do for the [Springbok] Sevens team. We might have that opportunity to pick the fifteens teams like that.' .... It would be laughable, except these nutters tend to implement their....er...ideas.

This could mean Alberts gets another shot at being a Bok, he is of course a horse  (some might say carthorse) & the slow fields in NH would suit him of course.
JW always willing to offer constructive observations

In some ways, this does make sense.
Not the whole team, but individual players are certainly more useful in different conditions.
Having more kickers in the backline for wet NH conditions, or better runners in SH hard fast pitches.
This could also be applied to the Cheetas and Kings requiring a different skill set, then a Super rugby team that needs more mobile forwards to get from ruck to ruck.
Fat Albert in his prime was very efficient in the Northern Hemisphere conditions as an enforcer. The bone crusher enforcer that bullied the advantage line, but is usually one ruck behind the play in the Southern Hemisphere.

Hougaard transforms from a test level player to calamity James at test level in Northern Hemisphere conditions.
One thing that needs to be proven how the newer brand of attacking rugby will apply in the Northern Hemisphere- where the ruck can become a shambles

One excellent men's trademark: stating one thing and immediately an opposite.

The guy underlines the efficiency of SH international sides in a WC played in the NH. Yet  at the same time calls for two selections in order to meet some kind of H requirements. Non sense.

That being said, the motion must be supported as it leads to the termination of rugby in SA, which must be terminated (as exemplified by this non sense motion)

One cause will be that the relationship between international sides and clubs is much different in the north.
Clubs demand compensation everytime a player is selected from their squad, they actually loan out their players to the international squads.
Wages are high in EN and FR,and a selection made with those players will be expensive to support for marginal gains. Spend much more money to collect little more.
The path to bankrupcy.

This motion must be implemented.

One has to ask the question how this idiot Alexander got the job in the first place - clearly had nothing to do with merit

The only side that could possibly entertain such an option would be the AB's but they are hardly that stupid

He also says

“In the latest squad we have 15 out of 31 – hell that is good and we are almost there already. We want teams picked on merit – our Springbok team is picked on merit and we will continue monitoring this process until 2019.”

Unfortunately for Alexander there are no pills for stupid!

The members on this board could pick a better Bok squad for most games.
If we could have that NH team play their games down here for quality and send our dirt-trackers up north for their spectators.

Members on this board keep telling tales.

One of the tales is that there are players in the north to salvage SA rugby.

Rugby with the long season in the North consumes a lot of players. There is a huge demand for players. SA players are hired on benefit of the past SA rugby image to raise club profiles and because they are discharged from international duty.
