Fine, Vermeulen knocked, turnover ball, off we go. But this is such a preventable try.

First error - Mapimpi out of line, DA slow across.

Then the slow, slow retreat. Both DA and Mapimpi are jogging all the way back, making no effort to stay with Barrett. Goodhue sprints past them and by the time he receives the scoring pass he is 3m clear of any defenders. What a sad effort. Mostert comes across from 25m infield and remains ahead of the backs as Goodhue receives the pass.

No BSter start with the original error - the Vermeulen knock-on - and use the little of what is left of your rugby intelligence and realize that in such a case the defense is disorganized.   De Allende has had zero to do with the problem.    Vermeulen achieved nothing in defense as well as well - should have tried more because he made the original bugger-up, but he had no impact either.

I mostly blame Mapimpi: first for being in no man's land defensively, and then for allowing the attack to get away from him by jogging after it. Mapimpi is just as far behind Mostert's line of advance when Barrett gathers as Goodhue is, yet Goodhue ends up well in front of Mostert while Mapimpi is way behind. Once he puts the chase on Goodhue after he receives the pass, he clearly gains on him. There was no reason why he should have let Goodhue get away from him so far on the chase. It's flat out lazy stuff, "oh they're away, what's the use of me chasing".

So it's all Vermeulen's fault? Once there's a turnover everyone can just stop playing and whatever happens is the fault of the guy who dropped the ball? Get real, the game goes on. This try was absolutely preventable with some committed chasing.

Two of our backs (including a wing) virtually outrun by a lock going back in cover. Were they trying? Really?

Mapimpi is lazy on defence as well as not looking for work. Happy to hold wide and wait for the ball.

No Pakie - the brain deficient.

Look carefully at what is wrote about the type of possession  change leading to disorganization of the defense.   Can you read and understand anything about rugby.

O - I now remember the site idiots also blamed everybody else bar the perpetrator Morne Steyn for the winning try of the Aussies in the Perth test in 2014.

Idiocy is the norm when it comes to some of the site members,

You people really have a bug up your arse about De Allende. This try was all Mapimpi's fault. He came off his wing when there was no need at all to do so. That created the overlap that put the Boks under huge pressure. De Allende was lazy in his running, I agree with that...but the stuff up had already been created by Mapimpi. I don't like De Allende, but good lord some of you are obsessed with discrediting him. That is illustrated no t only in the fact that another article had to be created to discuss the exact thing that Moz's article discusses, but also by the fact that Am, who was just as guilty as De Allende, is barely mentioned. I wonder how long it will take for you people to admit that you are just as obsessed with discrediting De Allende, as Mike is with defending him?

Bluebok

I stated myself that De Allende has limitations - but I defend all players falsely accused of things by the Idiot Speakers on site - De Allende is just one of those.

Am was the only player who made an immediate, full out effort. Look at the third frame in my original post to see how much ground he made back and across compared to DA and Mapimpi. His chase also crowded Smith out of the equation. That alone should provide the hint that an immediate hard chase from DA and Mapimpi could possibly have disrupted the move if they managed to stay in the line of the pass. Am was simply beaten for pace, and as Moz has mentioned, if he made one error it was making the desperate dive instead of staying on his feet and following play. I agree that Mapimpi is most culpable, leaving his wing expos ed and then having a lazy jog after the play instead of chasing it.

Don't make yourself looking more foolish - a number of members indicated that Mozart and you are BSting here and that I was hoping would be the end of the story.  /

The point.....what is the point? The point is not that Vermeulen, Am and Mapimpi weren't culpable ......they were. More practically culpable in each case than Allende. Do we have that point......have we grasped it. There is no argument about that point. That point is a smokescreen. The other point being discussed here is whether an experienced Springbok centre......one of our leaders by way of his many caps......did what you would expect of a school boy centre in similar circumstances. Or did he say to himself.....'not my problem, I can only look bad chasing back at full pace and not intervening' Or here is another point......what possible harm could it have done if he ran at full pace versus jogging, and made a full hearted effort to prevent the try.

No Mozart that is not what you wrote above and it is total B.  The other members tried to st op further discussion - but you persisted and that is why you are making a  fool of yourself again.
