The Leicester Lions last chance?

Combrink, Mapoe, Jantjies, Faf, Redlinghuis, Marx, Mini Mostert, Kleintjie Kriel and Wee Whiteley have all shown clearly they arent test quality. Its the biggest head fake for a long time, even the Soccer Poms were astute enough to go slowly on tapping Leicester City players. Not the flavour of the day Bok fans....they all had to be selected. They were and the. results are now clear. Not good. There is one last card Rohan. Probably the one Leicester Lion who is a real test match candidate....well in addition to Marx who just hast to be better than he has appeared. Hopefully we have the smarts to recognize all these small chaps would be obliterated by the ABs in Dublin mood, and choose the one Lein(sp) who has the physical attributes to take them on.

Read the article I posted  maybe you will learn something.   There Is a lot more wrong in SA rugby and the real issue is a lack of thinking rugby and the style you so ardently support.       

 Moz, are there any players currently in the squad and/or who have played this season who you do rate? If so, how have they been, performance wise? Eben surprised me and got better. PSDT has been good. Whitely has been a defensive behemoth in a team defending horribly. Redlinghuys was better than all of them. Aside from those names, i can't think of any others who deserve a mention, all year. Maybe Faf in the first few games. Being a math guy, surely you are aware of the common denominator IE Coetzee. Would you place all low level employees under review when the management team is a farce? I can't even understand how discussing the players at this point makes any sense.

Being a math guy Plum I am aware of false correlations eg the apparent correlation between poor performance and Coetzee. With a poor coach the team as a whole may flop, no need for individuals....props, locks, centres to lose their individual battles. What I'm saying is none of those Leins are suited to test rugby with the few exceptions I mentioned....it's too physically demanding.You can coach Mostert till he sits up and barks, he simply doesnt have the physical credentials. Sadly I have seen very few players emerging in the last two years who strike me as test material.

I see what you're saying Moz, but let's make some comparisons. Let's use Italy and The Pumas. How did The Pumas do in SR? How do we think Italy would do? Well we know The Pumas were very poor and it's probably safe to say that Italy would be whipping boys too. Mostert and the other Lions are good, big, fast, strong and skillful enough to beat the beat teams in SR. Yet somehow take the best Lions players, and bolster them with the best that the rest of SA has to offer, let them play under Coetzee's instruction and suddenly they can't beat the above two teams? IE suddenly two very kak teams look very good. How is that a false correlation? Are those two teams really a step up from SR level? Was playing Oz this year, or a depleted Ireland at home a step up? I don't think so. NZ and England are the only games this year where the Boks can say that that they played against teams that would finish in the top five of SR.
