The Lessons Learned from Juandre Kruger

Looking at the English atrocious handling of kick in ball yesterday - one gains the impression that they took lessons from the leading expert in the relevant field - Juandre Kruger.

Now why do I say that?   When writing about the deficiencies of Kruger in line outs and his lack of grunt - the venerable Mozart wrote a long piece about how important Kruger is in -

* calling throw ins at line outs; and

* receiving the ball on kick ins and in organising the defence in those cases.

Nobody could conceivably take over those functions.   Aside from that on occasion Mozart wrote that since Alberts is so slow as a loosie - Kruger - been a quicker player - assists Alberts in defence wider out.

In the Ellis Park and other tests this year he put up an atrocious performance in all the tests he played in - Mozart became quiet on Kruger's clear deficiencies - but slip in quietly a suggestion that Kruger be attained in the Springbok squad in a veiled attempt to keep Du Toit out of contention.   Since Kruger is not in the touring squad - Mozart has now turned to Botha as the next weapon to be used against the selection of Du Toit..  We will have to see what Meyer does next - so one can only hope that Meyer does not make another mistake this time around.

You previously stated that the return of Mattfield is a pipe dream by a journalist.   However, in a follow up discussion - when Meyer was asked about the Mattfield issue - it was clear that he himself is dreaming about and hoping for a Mattfield return.  

So it is not as clear as all that - Meyer loves the Blue Bulls antiques and I bet you he is dreaming about Botha at  4 and Mattfield at 5 - which for a future perspective is obviously rubbish.
