The Lions tour is expected with passion. Ruckers forum regulars introduced it as the main event in 2017.
Yet this tour shows that NZ has killed competition. That is highly troublesome as the sporting events are sold through the competition angle.

Checking the  betting odds exhibits another dimension of this big problem.
People have grown a habit of making money off betting on sports events and the ABs provide less and less an opportunity to do that.

The odds are staggering:  NZ 1/5 to win the series, NZ 10/11 to win the series 3 0

It must be taken into account that betting sites live off gamblers and the estimated odds all include an incentive for gamblers to bet.

It is another thorn in NZ's foot. It is increasingly harder and harder to make money through bets involving the ABs.

..The Lions have some good players but how many uninjured players will there be left standing after 6 Nations , European Cup, Aviva, Pro 12 games etc...??.. also a fairly ambitious schedule playing the Maoris, Super Rugby franchises , a Provincial XV and the three tests against the ABs.....that's a lot of rugby and they might need to bring a very big squad to compensate for all the hammering they're gunna get...
