Stumbled upon a Naas Botha highlight video on Youtube and watched him slot a droppie from well inside his own half (and everywhere else on the park, wet or dry).

With all these close knockout games you'd think every team should have this in their arsenal - ask Wilko, 2003. Yet we barely see it anymore. Willemse attempted a woeful one in the final this year if I recall correctly (was there two? can't remember), but not much beyond that from any team.

Careful Pakster you will have the twinkle toes/ballarinas after you. Imagine wining a World cup via drop goals. Horror upon horrors!

Kolbe also tried his luck.

RWCs 95, 99 and 03 decided by drop goals, althoug  Larkam's 99 drop was to git Aussie into the final.

Hehe, not much difference between winning it with penalties and winning it with drop goals.

Kolbe also tried his luck.

Yeah I remember now Farrell popped one to put England 15-6 up in the semi. It was almost enough to sink the Boks.

Jeez Draad, I almost forgot the most famous one of all in 95.

Hope it stays lost. Drop goal should be worth 2 points at most.

What a shortsighted opinion...it's part of the variation that makes rugby the great game that it is.
