Injuries, illness and disease haven't dimmed the great Schalla. Great offloads, rugged tackling, play on the deck, bursting runs marked Schalks performance today. Kolisi is a bit player compared to Schalk.
I thought we might be doomed with the trifecta of Kolisi, Grant and Schreuder coming on...but the Stormers scraped through in a game they should have won by at least 10 points.
Taute was useful at times but those two Highlander kick chase tries exposed his painful lack of pace. And set free to score in the corner he was caught and never chose to go in low which would have ensured the try.
De Allende is so much more comfortable on the wing. Jean and de Jongh were pretty poor today, largely outplayed by the Highlanders pair, especially the impressive Fekitoa.
Coleman provided some zest at 10, and the Stormers front row had a better showing, especially in the loose.
One gets the feeling with Etzebeth returning and some improving fundamentals that the Stormers will end strong.
