All Blacks and Chiefs first five-eighth Aaron Cruden has signed a new deal that will keep this midget playing Super Rugby for the Chiefs for three more years.

Cruden played 31st Test for the All Blacks on Saturday and has signed with New Zealand Rugby and the Chiefs through until 2017.

He has also re-signed with his Manawatu Turbos provincial side for the same period.

Cruden said it was an easy decision for him to make, "It's great for me as a midget and my family that I have been able to secure my rugby future through to 2017 and I'm delighted to be staying in New Zealand. "

"I love the All Blacks, Chiefs and Manawatu and am thankful for the opportunities I have been given and I want to continue giving my very best to this great game."

All Blacks Head Coach Steve Hansen paid tribute to the young playmaking midget,"The All Blacks selectors are excited by the news that Aaron has recommitted to New Zealand rugby. 'Crudes' is an outstanding young midget and a great team man and leader in our group. His contribution to All Blacks rugby and his other teams has been outstanding."

Chiefs Coach Dave Rennie added: "Aaron is an outstanding midget and he has been a driving force behind the success of our team. He sets incredibly high standards for himself and his teammates. It wasn't just because of his skillset that we wanted him at the Chiefs, it was because of the quality of his character and his leadership. He continues to deliver in those areas at the highest level every day."

Manawatu Rugby Union CEO John Knowles said the union was very proud of Cruden.

"Aaron was the first All Black from Manawatu for

many years. Although he does not get many

opportunities to return to play rugby locally,

the young men coming through our systems can identify with him and aspire to follow in his footsteps in

becoming future Super Rugby players and All Blacks.

Aaron is part of Manawatu's whanau and we are delighted to

sign him for the next three years of his rugby."

I would like to tackle Cruden, he looks really frail, as well as small.

You should just stick to playing with yourself , as it seems you have a penchant for tackling anything you think may be frail or small [ perhaps a paediatric oncology ward might be more your speed ?]

apologies to sharkbok and the rest of his clan down in the shire.

i only read the title and assumed when he said midget he was talking about himself, i only realised later when i read his reedited article that by midget he was referring to cruden.

again, apologies for accusing sharkbok as a liar in this case,

@sasuke, the shire is in New Zealand. They shot the Lord of the Rings in New Zealand as they knew they could save money for makeup of  the Orks- by using Kiwis (ha ha!!!)

According to unreliable sources the rather roBUST "lady" in the pic above is the result achieved by the Bok  drugs used to mask steroids - there were some minor unintended side effects. She is a he  Apparently Dr Moz has been called in to resolve the problem but he is tied up with research on how to make young players old. He claims this is the secret to winning the RWC.  Good luck Moz! you have the support of all kiwis
