Just watched the Cheetahs game and can't believe that this is the same team that finished 6 last year. With the calibre of players they have, they should have easily been 3 games up by now.

The players that I have really disappointed in are

Goosen - The guy just seems to be happy to shuffle the ball left, kicking is average and left 9 points on the table. His tactical kicking was poor, never allowed the cheetahs to get on the front foot ball.

Le Roux - Not really make the same impact as last year. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd season is finally catching up with him.

Let me know which players have you guys been disappointed with?

He's only played one game so far but last week David Pocock looked a shadow of the player he was 2 seasons ago.

Just about the entire Hapless Stompies team (Ntubeni and De Allende the notable exceptions) were nothing short of pathetic last week . . . although for me personally, that wouldn't really count as "disappointing"!

Le Roux is not a fullback, never was a fullback and never will be a fullback. That's the problem right there. Another example of South African coaches defiantly trying to squeeze players into positions that they do not excel at.

Goosen is doing nothing differently from 2012. He never attacks the line, he always has shuffled the ball. But when the Cheetahs play well they link onto the end of those passes well, it just didn't happen tonight. They were beaten badly at the breakdown, so that counts as well.

For me the worst has to be Fouché. The Bulls are struggling badly because of that one bad link in the chain. Visser is no Kirchner either. Serfontein has been underwhelming at best. Spies has been so-so. Add in Le Roux and those are on my 'to-flog' list.

But the positives are Coetzee, Reinach, Jordaan, Mvovo, Kankowski (How I have slated this guy over the years!), Frans and Lambie is playing a stable game. So far it's all Sharks in that department. I personally am not buying into the Boshoff hype.

I expected a bit more from the two cheetahs players. Both players had 3 games now to click into gear and get going but in the first game there were a few mistakes, the second game was a wash out so you couldn't really judge them but the third game against the rubbles they should have really gotten their game right. Not sure if Goose is still guarding himself against any major injuries, he seems to attack the line less and just takes and pass the ball.
I didn't even bother to include Stormers, but after the first 3 rounds it really doesn't look good for the Springboks. Our so called 4 top teams have their worked cut out.
If the guys don't get it right then Meyer will revert to type and bring back the likes of Steyn and Kirchner. I think with the word cup only being 18 months away he'll probably don't want to change his squad to much.
I hope that Serfontein will come right this season, the just need to get rid of Fouche, the guys is a liability.
I would also like to see hougaard click into gear. Hougaard will need to pull out the goods tomorrow. The bulls still have enough quality players. You can't tell me they are suffering from losing so many players.
Will be updating this to see how the rest of the players get on.
I'm really hoping Burger, Jean, De Allende and Kolisi have big games tonight against the hurricanes or they will end up going down in my list

As I showed of clips from 2012 Goosen was overhyped as an individual attacker in his own right. He never could handle contact well and I suppose the cats out of the bag regarding that fact. For me the Cheetahs aren't clicking as a unit yet, and that was always their strength, becoming greater than the sum of their parts. We'll just have to wait and see how things pan out.

I never included Stormers players because they are thereabouts where I expected them to be. Kolisi is the best hope of the players you listed in my opinion. The Stormers need a clear-out.

I agree about Serfontein, he is struggling, but look what he has inside of him! It's hard to say exactly where the Bull's centres are right now because they are being stifled by Fouché.

Mozart you hit the nail on the head. Jake is the only SA coach that makes sure his players are conditioned. The other SA seems to be lagging behind.

In this particular game,I have to single out F Venter. He was very poor in his performance. His inexsperience is what let the Cheetahs backline down. The Rebels exploited that and ran hard at him, even so that not even 20min in he went for a concussion test. Its strange that, you dont know what you have untill its gone.Ebherson was really solid in the 12 shirt and deserved a lot more credit actually.I dont know if he was a bok contender, but I think he deserved a look in to at least but the love for an under perfoing Steyn and the need to keep Dinosaur de Villiers as captian has ultimately cost South Africa another talented player for the clubs in France.

Also, yeah Goosen is playing it safe.I guess for him,he just wants to be able to play full games with out injury. So nothing dairing there. His confidence is lacking because he is afraid of getting injured. So we get luke warm drivel.

The next player has to be Schreuder from the Stormers.Nothing special there...I dont see a lot of money there.I doubt if he will be playing super rugby next year.

Looking at the Springboks performances thus far one do not have to deal with only those mentioned above.  There are serious question marks about  quite a number of others as well,   Id you take the Club Players into account - the fact that Morne Steyn is too poor to make the Stade Francais starting line-up ahead of a rookie - says a lot as well,

So lets look at the list of under-performers in more detail - and amongst those I count En gelbrecht and Serfontein as prime examples.   Then we have Witless Hog Steyn - who was diabolical last week.

Vermeulen thus far was not the player he was last season.  The way he was tackled back in a few cases thus far was unbelievable.   Alberts low work rate was even worse than it was last year.

So to concentrate on two or three players and forget about the rest - is just not a good  enough basis for analysis.

"...the fact that Morne Steyn is too poor to make the Stade Francais starting line-up ahead of a rookie - says a lot as well"

Skuus, Ek't nie mooi gehoor nie....

Stade Français: 15 Richard Kingi, 14 Julien Arias, 13 Paul Williams, 12 Jonathan Danty, 11 Digby Ioane, 10 Morné Steyn, 9 Jérôme Fillol, 8 David Lyons, 7 Sylvain Nicolas, 6 Antoine Burban, 5 Gerhard Mostert, 4 Alexandre Flanquart, 3 Rabah Slimani, 2 Remi Bonfils, 1 Sakaria Taulafo,

Convincing win? Im assuming thats sarcasim, canes dominated 70 mins of that much, defended really well. Hammett needs to go, taking off the canes two best players on the feild off in Peranara in Levave, essentially cost canes thr game. Canes showed good signs though, wouldent say Parks is worst super rugby player ever lol, he had a pretty good game this weekend. Besidrs worst player out of a thousand players, and hes only played two games, dont think so .

"Convincing win? Im assuming thats sarcasim . . ."

Luke, Baboon-ou doesn't really get sarcasm, it's actually just plain old stupidity.
What the Sharks did to the Hurricanes was a convincing win. The Hapless Stompies last gasp fluke was a very lucky get-out-of-jail-free card that saw the better team get robbed at the death . . . and the successful conversion cost me a full-house of correct predictions on Superbru this week!
The Hapless Stompies won't finish in the top half this year.

Just to add some more players that was disappointing over the weekend.
Kolisi seemed to be lost in the game. Didn't know where he was.
Serfontein, talk about a hospital pass. Poor JJ got pummelled.
Hougaard, did really well throughout the game until he got charged down by a prop. Seems to panic when he is in his on 5 meters. Did same against the sharks.

It is not uncommon for that to start his return that way.  It does not change anything - Morne remains SHIT flyhalf - but then association is the call here and you does not know the difference between a shit and candy.
