The most experienced bok side ever...

just lost to Japan! No point blaming this player or that! The team of experienced players is nothing more than a team of players that are too old and are no longer what they used to be! 
So to Moz, Cera, Denny, DF, the experienced side and the coach you've been advocating, have just lost to Japan!!! You got it wrong! I try not to pick teams (Cera, Moz etc vs Mike Saffex etc) because I feel the correct balance of age and experienced based on form, will result in the best team, but I just want to point out that the first line of this post pretty much sums everything up. In a sport with such high phy sicality,  age does count against you. Pure youth is also not the answer, but it is obvious from yesterday that experience alone is not enough.

Experience without performance is an abomination - I always said that before and will always keep saying it.  I prefer experienced players - but not has-beens and never-has-beens who do not perform any longer.  
Mozart and co is in league with Meyer at calling for duds to be selected on the basis of reputation.   For them performance means nothing.
    

 Has Meyer left the boks in a position where the young-bloods have no experience and the experienced are just bloody tired ?To late to change horses mid-stream is it ?

It is nice to have experience but you have to be able to use that experience in a positive manner to reap any benefit.
Like a guy running the Comrades Marathon 12 times does not mean that he is going to win the next Comrades. 
How can you select injured and over the hill players to represent your country at the WC knowing that they have not played international rugby recently.
Those over the hill experienced players who have played in the past year have not shown any reason for them to be considered for selection, period.
You have to be thick skinned or just plain stupid. Meyer unfortunately has both of those "SKILLS".

Denny, fair point, you have never specifically said anything about the experienced players. Just grouped you with the others cos of the Team A vs Team B thing going on this site. No disrespect intended, just trying to illustrate a point.  
Another point I'd like to make. For all their combined experience, it helped zero in steering the team back from adversity. My hope prior to the kick off, was that even though experienced players had been included at the expense of form players, their lower performance value would be countered by the positives of their leadership. That did not happen, and they offered no value in either department.  

 Bluebok I know for a fact that mentoring is a sacred duty in the ABS these days [ it wasnt always so ]  and the older players are expected to put aside their concerns about their own place and put the team and country first .Those young uns in the Bok team look like kids playing dress-ups in Oupa's clothes .Cohesion in any battle will keep you hanging in there longer and thats what the boks seemed to lack ,is it due to the players not being used to playing alongside each other in super rugby ?

How about selecting the best in each position and have them gain an understanding of each other through the test arena?

Far better than selecting substandard players just cause they know each other ... wouldn't you think?

Hate to say it mate but your point whatever it is has kinda gone astray  as I remember saying that Meyer blundered in his selections but that I would wait till until after the RWC to give my assessment. I also expressed my dissatisfaction with Faf not being given a chance and with Meyer's persistence with the passive Pienaar. After the squad was selected I said something to the effect of "it is what it is", let's get behind the Boks.
