I do not think the Springboks will make it past the WC quarterfinal and that would mean the first Springbok test thereafter will be in June next year.
The problem I will foresee for our poor member is that who will he support for selection then? It must be borne that by that time the following will not be available for selection to the Springbok team anymore:-
Jean de VilliersVictor MatfieldBryan HabanaFourie du PreezZane KirchnerRuan PienaarMorne SteynWillem AlbertsJannie du Plessis
The following may still be playing rugby - bit their Springbok future is dubious:-
Francois SteynFrancois LouwBismarck du PlessisTendai MtawariraSchalk BurgerJP Pietersen
All the last 5 will be well over 30 years of age by then. Francois Steyn and JP Pietersen is so poor in performance at this stage and should not have been in the Springbok squad and deteriorating signs are in evidence in Louw, Du Plessis and Mtawarira.
So the problem is that our Mozart will have to find some new players to support. It will be difficult for him because the possible successors have been denigrated by him endlessly in his postings thus far.
I am afraid he will be totally at sea and hope that the coach will run back to some of the geriatrics to get them into the squad - but that is unlikely to happen. Nobody will ever make the mistake Meyer made in selections by constantly refusing to see reality and thinking that he can run back to the elderly and hope that it would be a solution to the Springboks problem, thus creating a mountain of problem selections at present.
A serious problem for our member and I would like to see how he wiggles out of that one.
