The Next Evolution: Willie Le Roux

I was a bit hesitant to sing his praises after the Brumbies game and it is still very early days, but could this be what we have been looking for? With several players on the scene at the moment it looks like we have the best opportunity to develop a more multi-faceted side that can be at the forefront of modern rugby. With Le Roux we not have to resort to Hougaard at 11 to add that elusive and speedy potency to the team. Between Le Roux at 11, Hougaard at 9, Frans at 12, de Jongh at 13 and Joe Pietersen/Lambie at 15, we have pacey and powerful players with real gamebreaking ability. Not only is Le Roux quick, he has that special something to make every touch of the ball count, popping up in all the right places. What do you all think?

Willie does look to b ea find and can step off both feet. Good pace and a rugby brain.

Like Pietersen, De Jong will not make the test side.

Jean de Villiers showed again he i sone of our best centers and will keep his place.

I noticed him when he played for Boland last year. A great prospect. Suddenly there are excellent youngsters popping out of the woodwork everywhere. Some of the established Boks who were never really under threat in the De Villiers era need to watch out. Things are happening, thats for sure.

My Bok backline would be 15. Lambie 14. JP 13. Taute 12. Frans 11. Mvovo 10. Jantjies 9. Hougaard with a bench of Pienaar, Goosen & Sadie

What has Mvovo done recently? He is big, but ineffective.

 Been impressive all S15 thus far, better than the other SA wings on show, except for le Roux

I hope Le Roux is the real deal, for some strange reason(s) we're struggling for good wingers.

I find that our inside backs tend to be poor so the opportunities do not normally come as often for our wingers as other sides. We have more quality wings now than I can ever recall. Just have to improve our centre play and the work around our 10s. I also hope that Le Roux is the real deal. We'll certainly find out in the next month or so. He lokos very much in the mould of Hougaard. That elusive quality is something not many of our wings have. He is explosive and very switched on. Just look at his second try against the Rebels.
