Goosen...2, a leaf in the wind, lost the ball 3 times and has he taken one high ball cleanly? His line kicking was putrid ...15 metres at a go. Contrast Steyn's great punt to the corner.
Hougaard ....4, industrious and took over high ball duties.
Kriel...2, invisible. Fatal hesitation saw his marker over for a try. Six runs for 1 metre....3 tackle attempts, 1 succesful.
De Jongh ...4, needs to back himself offensively but is the only player helping to direct the defensive line.....great try saving tackle on Ben Smith.
Habana... 7, still our most dangerous attacker as he showed with his try. Full hearted tackle on the Bus nearly saved a try.
Jantjies...2, gave away our first try momentum with dropped ball. Poor passes, poor kicks....rampant confusion.
Faf....3, catching the Jantjies hesitancy, but a tiger on defence. I would like to see him with a predictable partner.
Beast ...4, solid, scrummed better than Kitshoff.
Strauss...6, a very fine game at the breakdown.
Koch....3, fine in the loose but monstered in two crucial scrums. When will this change....never I fear.
Etzebeth....5, a solid but less influential game.
Stephanie...7, huge energy and good contributions, why take him off for Mostert with the game still alive.
Louw...5, some good moments
Mohoje....2, we play with 14 men when this chap is on the park
Whiteley....7, perhaps his best test. Probably our most productive forward.
Kitshoff...2, where's the beef?
Alberts....3,  illogically brought on after the game opened up. Missed some tackles but impacted the rucks.
Marx ...4, great break and looks physically at home. Horrible line out throwing though....and the incredibly stupid on field leadership kept asking him to make difficult deep throws.
Jaco Kriel....2, embarrassingly beaten off the scrum for a try by Perenara
Mostert...3, irrelevant
Adriaanse...2, monstered like Koch.
Allende...1, killed 2 moves by not offloading.  Totally culpable on the Whitehead try by hesitating to make his tackle.

Ag  balls - what about the poor tackle attempt of De Jong on Ardie Savea before he scored his try?   The assessor missed that one and a few others as well.   I think the problem is more with the coach than with everything else.   There is no plan and that is a fact.   Is the above your assessment or is it a credible one?

The Dagg try was the result of quick hands and an overlap...all coming from the Jantjies kick off botch.

In the  Ben Smith try de Jongh tracks down Aaron Smith and makes the tackle on Smith who then passes to Ben Smith....Kriel hesitates and Smith cuts inside him to score.

In the Ardie Savea try, the crucial break came when Ben Smith broke past Jantjies in mid field and made 30 metres...the ABs had an overlap to the right at the breakdown but de Jongh spotted it and got up on the first NZ receiver with excellent line speed, preventing a clean break to the right. Aaron Smith then broke left helped by obstruction called by the NZ commentators. He ghosted past a few defenders including a painfully slow Allende before passing to Savea. De Jongh was on the opposite side of the field Tokkie.

The next try scored by Whitelock came from an overrun and missed tackle by De Jong as Savea stepped inside him.... but was stopped. The ball came out left with Whitelock out on the wing. Allende hung back on Coles allowing him time to heave a long pass to Whitelock near touch. If Allende had defended aggressively and made his tackle that long pass wouldn't have been made.

The final try came because Jaco Kriel  was totally focused on the scrum and Perenara simply accelerated from the base of the scrum across the line unopposed.

Those are the facts.

The old warhorse winger Habana still holding his head up with that excellent try I see .The Bok set-piece is looking not too bad it seems to be the lack of a steady and influential presence at 9 and 10 and the linking thats hurting you guys .But given the lack of experience it can only get better hell the Wobs gave up 3 more tries against the ABs but seem to be recovering so theres hope for the Boks. The young guys dont seem to have been given the time to mature as was the case for guys like Ardie Savea with the ABs ,few coaches would have resisted bunging him in holus bolus before his time .Morne Steyne has 700 points to his name and that alone should garner some respect .

If South Africa had Ardie Savea and Sam Cane there would now be an active campaign to discredit Cane and select Savea.

Mozart's justification of De Jongh's defence is an equal set of BS to his normal description of what happens during matches.   I want to state clearly that he has always written BS when describing matches and that is based not on fact - but on prejudice.   Please note he did not answer he following question - Is the above your assessment or is it a credible one?

Here is the situation just before Ardie Savea receives the ball and breaks through. Du Toit in blue, De Jongh in yellow, Savea in red. The player between them, Louw, will tackle the ball carrier Retallick, to the right of Savea.

The first tackler to Savea is Du Toit. A good low tackle here stops the move.

But he goes too high and starts sliding off the tackle, Savea immediately breaking his hold by lifting his right elbow.

De Jongh joins the tackle as Savea forges ahead. At this point, as his right arm comes round, Du Toit's head snaps back so it appears as if De Jongh's arm hit Du Toit in the face. Can't be 100% certain. May also be Savea still pumping away with the right elbow.

Both of them then fall into Faf's way so he can't get to Savea either, and Savea goes another 12 or so meters .

And De Jongh landed on his backside behind Savea.  He was there and involved and Mozart claimed he was on the other side of the field.  What a liar. Du Toit went in when De Jongh was in the process of being shaken off.

"Du Toit went in when De Jongh was in the process of being shaken off."

No, as the footage clearly shows Du Toit is the first tackler.
"He was there and involved and Mozart claimed he was on the other side of the field."

Again no. The sequence above is in the leadup to the Whitelock try, so refer to that part of Mozart's comments.

Hahaha.....thick as a brick Tokkie. Look at Ardie Savea's try you will see him exactly where I placed him, on the other side of the ruck. And clearly Savea was Stephanie's man in that move, de Jongh joining to stop him from make further metres by grabbing his shoulders .....but then he broke Stephanie's tackle and de Jongh wasn't positioned to actually take him down.

Savea actually made a couple of turn-overs which surprised me as I dont think of him as a specialist in that field .Cane is a different complimentary beast to the younger Savea and both have a spot in the ABs for a while to come it seems.

Savea is a physically dominating player at test level, incredibly hard to put away and really quick as we saw when he ran down Paul Jordaan. Wish he was playing for us.
