a wide open affair with everyone struggling to come to terms with the course. Our own Louis has put himself in a handy position and with a touch of luck and a steady resolve he might be in contention to win the tournament.
Go Louis!

Louis had a solid round and avoided the big errors that nailed Ricky and Jason. The decision Day made to try and hook that ball round the trees on 18 was bizarre. ....Jean van de Velde like. Why his caddie didn't put up more objections beats me. Kisner and Stroud are both short hitters, which means they have to be very precise. They have a shot, but Thomas and Matsuyama have both been close at the Majors and are due.
..
Louis likewise, apart from his British win, has been very close at the Masters ...hopefully he can do it tomorrow!

As an aside Ryan Fox, son of AB Grant Fox is doing very well in 12th place.

Well Thomas won, which isn't a big surprise......Louis finished joint second, which is very respectable, but disappointing given how many times he has been close. He blocked a few drives when the pressure was on, one tangible thing to work on. But the time we would see a South African major winner most years is sadly gone.

I didn't get to see the final round due to the awkward broadcast timings, no surprise though to see Louis a runner up yet again.....is it the fourth time now, he needs to know how to close the deal.

As a general sport lover I must admit I find it very difficult to watch golf. Playing it I enjoy, but watching it I find painful. I have been trying for years to get into it, and have shared in the excitement when a South African has been involved in a playoff and has won a major, but I still battle to watch it. Not sure what I am missing.

I don't find the general tournaments all that compelling either Bloo. But when you know the players' games and the courses it's more interesting....especially if you have played the course. But there are long dead periods....so I record these things and time my watching to get to the end of the recording as the tournament ends. That way I can start about half way through the broadcast, fast forward through all the repetitive stories, ads and focus on certain players like Spieth even if he is out of contention....and just watch the action.
