Pillar defenders make process tackles. It's a nice gig if you can get it...you tackle a slow moving forward whose main concern is getting to ground and presenting the ball. In the process you pile up fake tackle stats which have the groupies in a tizzy......you know who I mean. Well here's an interesting observation by SA Rugby mag.....I might add a rare observation, mostly it's just pablum: 'In the crucial win over Scotland, Japan also used the inside pass to great effect, with their dynamic backs running some superb lines off the inside shoulder of the first receiver as they looked to exploit any lazy pilla defenders.' That weapon worked fairly well against the Scottish pillars, how do we protect our pillar?

So that is why in  one test  Alberts broke his record and made 13 tackles.   Great description.  Good Loosies normally makes a large number of tackles wider out - but process tacklers can only tackle slow--moving forwards,   Thanks for the info Strzok.- it really is clear.   Process tackles are made on slow-moving targets already on the way to ground.   Now I understand it completely - but your use of the description is as per normal totally false and misleading,

The people you routinely describe as process tackles make most of the tackles on opposing loosies and backline players - while the slow-paced ones like Alberts, Louw, Steyn  and even Vermeulen are "pillar defenders" , ie process tacklers.  Right as always am I - hurrah,    LMAO

I love the definition you managed to unearth about process tackles and Pillar Tackles are obviously made by pace-deficient players like those I referred to above.   It is obviously also applicable to slow-coaches like Steyn, who will be given a run=around by pacier players ;oke jappemed I the test against Canada last week,

Well I'm glad you finally after 4 or so years have grasped what a process tackle is.....I'm not sure you really understand the concept of a pillar defender, but I'm hopeful in 4 or so years the penny will drop.

I think we can safely call Moffie a process poster . . . repeating the same tired old rubbish day in and day out without any insights, humour or anything remotely interesting.

Strzok

Sure I found out how you distort the using of the term by making it applicable to good defenders and using it to distort the situation by not applying it to the Pillar Defenders you routinely  supported in the past,    I took five years to expose you as to what you really are - a liar cau ght in his own web of deception,  LMAO   .

Peeper name one insight you have produced......just one. On this very string I have pointed out a risk to our defence on Saturday .....run onto our first pillar defender, we all know the guy who pads his tackle stats, and then drop the ball inside to Matsushima coming at pace.

Way above your pay grade grunt, but then that pay grade is so low.

The A-B-C roles on breakdown defence are the basic structure for the rest of the defence to be formed. Post-Guard-Bodyguard/Monster (There are several names for C).

The most basic attack is 9/Pick and drive to Post/Guard. Smarter attacking teams will use some form of draw play (they are also better at generating momentum from static ball). What makes Steph's defence so egregious is that he is supposed to be mindful of inside balls. His over-reactive and passive defence gives opponents easy ball far too often. It occurs in each and every test.

Interestingly, if you watch the Boks on attack. They'll challenge these fringe defenders with a one-off run by 9, a screen by a POD played out the back to a playmaker, one-off runs by a back or the middle POD runner with two cleaners in a unit of 3 . Very simplistic and easy to see coming. Arguably the most basic team in the competition in that regard.

What made Lizatjie an absolute idiot is his ability to distort things so weirdly that he apparently believes the BS he advertise on site.   What h wrote above is normal dribble which he thinks is applicable - but in the end totally meaningless.   Suddenly he reminds us that he knows A-B-C as he first letters of the alphabet - but does the idiot knows the rest?  He obviously knows nothing about rugby anyway,
