The plights of Rohan....

In checking ESPN I found that the backline players missed 27 tackles while making 43 tackles and causing ball possession losses of 10. This represented a missed tackle ratio of 39,13% .
Some players were even worse than that. Coetzee missed 60% of his attempted tackles, Jamtjies 50% and Janse van Rensburg 44%. The above represented an enormous defensive deficiency problem. It is no use to have backline players who looks great in attacking play, but are lacking in defense. To have a problem that included poor defense by at least one of the loosies and the 9,10 and 12 players is to ghastly to contemplate.
I have serious problems with the concept of playing midgets in the 11,13 and 14 positions as well, They just cannot compete in defense against physically bigger players,
In essence the forwards could have helped the issue by dominating the Tight 5 play and giving the Blues poor ball to play with - but that did not happen either. The problem is augmented by way too many possession handover kicks.
I am sure Rassie will take note of the above deficiencies and include not one of the guilty players in the Springbok squad.

This is not the first time Rohan's defense let him down. I think he was also poor in the Wales test in 2016 as far as I can remember, .
