. Looking at the evidence in the CC competition the various teams will have the go;;;owing problems going into the Super Rugby series next year:-
Bulls
Outside Backs - no really serious problems. However see my comments as to Kriel below.
Centers - the Odendaal- Jackson combination worked well in CC and Kriel is still a addition. However, Kriel may be played at full back - moving Gelant to wing oer even center,
Pollard will need to prove himself as flyhalf again in view of his long absence - however Boshoff would be nice back-up if Pollard does not make the grade.
Ivan van Zyl and Paige are likely to feature even though Paige is not really up to standard
Loosies - no real problems
Locks - De Jager, Jenkins and Snayman is likely to feature
Props - A major problem here - they only have one decent prop in their set-up namely Pierre Schoeman, Nyakana is iffy and the others poor. major problem.
With Mitchell as coach the team is going to be much higher on the log than the case was last year,
Lions
The Lions will not need much changes in the backkine - but they would need to bolster their prop situation - especially at Tighthead, could be solved if Julian Redelinghuys returns - Dreyer is just not food enough.. Hope their injured players will all be back next year, Will have stiff opposition from the Bulls and Sharks next year to top the log in the SA Conference,
Sharks
I cannot really identify any problems in the Sharks team. The team will be strengthened by the return of Robert du Preez who may be used as fyhalf with Bosch at full back.
Stormers
My question marks here is to be confined to a few players. I think Senatla is a top class Sevens player and I would rather see him playing Sevens. I assume the 7's players will return to Sevens as from December.
Not sure about Huw Jones - he is I believe contracted to play for Glasgow after the CC season ends this year - so the Stormers will have to find another inside center.
The Stormers likely made a mistake by releasing Robert du Preez to play for the Sharks. However, I think that the Stormers believe that Willemse and Jean-Luc du Plessis is the answer at flyhalf.
They have the best three locks in SA (Etzebeth, Du Toit and Schickerling) on their books,
I think that their no 7 (Van Dyk) is making hay and amongst the Tight 5 there is a question mark about their hookers.
