He got Amla - who has had a run of bad form recently. Harris got Smith, but that really is no big achievement - that guy is so putrid in performing - it is unbelievable.

Agreed Draad. This was a Typical Oom call. This kid has great potential, but the selectors were right to go slow. By contrast the much maligned Faff continues to register good innings.

Let's hope the South African batsmen have got this misplaced respect for Johnson out of their system. I think in the first test, SA put Johnson on a pedestal due to what he did against England and their mindset was their downfall. I mean, a few of Johnson's wickets were gifted and very "soft" dismissals. You need only look at pietersen to see what I mean.
1 wicket yesterday for Johnson. That's about what he deserves and is worth in 15 overs. He is no Dale Steyn. He is in the form of his life but he will be back to his usual inconsistency before long. With the SA bowling attack, you will always get consistency.
SA need to look at 350 as being a decent first innings score. 400 and they have played out their boots but a lot of that will depend on how AB goes. We get Aus in and role them for 250. Easy game!
It's just a pity the Protea batsmen let their standards slip in the first test and showed Johnson too much respect but this wave Johnson is riding is getting a little to big for him and he is about to come crashing back down to earth. SA to win series 2-1

One must remember that the last test was our first without our rock and mainstay Jacques Kallis. The tougher the situation, the more Kallis digs in and grinds. That's what made him one of the best batsmen we will ever see. I realise that he can't play forever but we sure could have used him to blunt Johnson in the first test because he like De Villiers are not mind fucked by any bowlers.
Remember Brett Lee's purple patch. Came to an abrupt end against India when the little maestro Sachin Tedulkar decided he was going to attack him and bring him back down to earth and Sachin scored big runs. Kallis was our Sachin!He departed us 1 series too soon unfortunately!
Anyway, Mitch Johnson is not as good as the Aussies think he is. Prior to his purple patch, the Poms had a song for his wayward bowling. Mitch Johnson, he bowls to the left, he bowls to the right, Mitch Johnson, his bowling is just shite!Enjoy it while it lasts big guy but in all honesty, he needed this as Aussies have a lot of young quicks knocking on the door and Johnson was treading water. This patch has prolonged his career and good on him for getting his head right and fighting his way back

Nah Redsman, the pitch is playing exactly how a PE track has played since forever. Players knew what to expect. Its just Johnson's true colours coming out. He should take a few tail enders though. It is his forte' after all.
Lets see if he doesnt get the results he has of late in this test if he sulks. Nothing better than a Mitch Johnson trying to hard..Its anybodies guess where the ball will go then..Certainly keep Haddin on his toes..
Lets just wait and see what the best attack in the world can do. No doubt they will be bowling at some stage this arvo.

How dumb was the groundsman in the last test to prepare a pitch with cracks on it and make it a russina roulette affair. That groundsman is the villain of the piece.Nice to see duminy batting decently.As the commentators says he has to perform with the bat or else he will be dropped.
De Kock is class and glad to see him there. Much better looking side.Elgar also showed he has guts.

Redsman, that just shows how 1 dimensional (I wana say the Aussie bowlers but you only have 1 bowler worth a shit) Johnson is. As soon as the wicket is not aiding him, he looks like shit whereas Steyn and Philander make a plan. They have to bowl to conditions and good enough to do that.
Johnson needs a soft, green wicket otherwise he is pap my bru!

You see Redsman, as I said, the best bowling attack in the world finds a way to take wickets.Imagine Amla and Peterson could catch as well. Haddin and Smith would have been tickets long ago.
SA must get under Johnson's skin now so he tries even harder in the 2nd innings.
