or if there is such a thing, something more than a miracle to win. I simply can't see it happening......but wait on, this is cricket, it's a funny old game so I'll rest my bet.
What would it take to win? It would need Duminy and Elgar to Bostik the crease for a very long time and ideally for both of them to score centuries. The morning session is going to be difficult until they are set again to continue where they'd finished off yesterday. The ball will be softer which is to their favour but not so is a drying WACA wicket displaying cracks as wide as the Grand Canyon. Expect uneven and low bounce.Vigilance is of the utmost important as they navigate their way through a tricky patch.Also in their favour is their self belief, they are set, they have the feel for the wicket and they've seen off the new ball attack.To win the Proteas need to score big but they also need to occupy the crease up until late Sunday.....just enough time to leave the Ozzies a dangling carrot. It's a huge task.Losing Amla for cheap was a huge blow but the team has rallied and have taken seamless ownership of the task at hand, moral victory belongs to the Proteas as they bundled out the Ozzies against all odds sans Steyn the premier fast bowler.

The game is set for heroic performances, it could come from either side, it's highly possible that one or more of the players could scratch their name into cricketing folklore....who will it be Bavuma, Maharaj, Rabada or Captain Faf? Time will tell.

I'd say if it wasn't for the injury to Steyn we were in good shape, with a 100 run lead and eight wickets in hand. And that massive longitudinal crack isn't going to get any smaller. But can we do it without a full bowling compliment. This will be a big opportunity for Rabada.....Philander should be Philander.

I thought earlier yesterday Philander was bowling without any luck, he troubled both Warner and Marsh, Marsh survived by the skin of his teeth so ja you could be right about Philander making the breakthrough. The crack will be at it's unplayable worst on the last day but before we get there I think our guys need to post a healthy total. It's too early to pick a winning score, there's just too many days to work through but I'm thinking 360 will be challenging and 420 secures a win. Still they can't afford giving the Ozzies 2 full days of batting. If they can snare Warner and Smith for cheap then it's game over red rover. I think this morning's session is where the game is going to be won or lost.

Yep we get a channel called Willow.....it's Indian sponsored so if our games clash with theirs, you get delayed coverage. But its a totally dedicated cricket channel.....love the Indian advertising, it takes one back 50 years in terms of values, and the humour is totally Bollywood.

D3 Honours belong to the Proteas, it's now time to close the Ozzies out of the game, while a huge total is what's needed almost equally important is the timing of the declaration or the time Australia is allowed to bat. The cracks in the wicket are not having any effect, in fact the wicket has become a batsmens paradise.
Duminy was superb and what about Dean Elgar after suffering a pair in his first outing to the WACA he responds in style.

Indeed you got exactly what you asked for Denny. Sets it up very nicely for the bowlers to express themselves. The Oz attack defos ain't near what it used to be. They just don't seem dangerous at all.

Yep, it's all good but you really don't want two quicks bowling for two days, that's my only concern. And then Duminy, a part time bowler will be forced to bowl which means two full time spinners...how's that going to pan out? Also think QDK and the tail should try and push on for as long as possible using up time and try to add another 100 runs to the total. The Ozzies really only have Warner and Smith, get them for cheap and its party time. I think we're in for two more days of intrigue.
