Cape Town - Zebre hooker Oliviero Fabiani is in hot water after biting Connacht’s South African-born lock Quinn Roux in a European Champions Cup match at the weekend.
The Italian team is up against it in the competition, having entered the game on the back of an 82-14 defeat against Wasps the previous week.
On Sunday, Zebre lost 52-7 at home to Connacht but the game will be remembered for Fabiani’s sending off in the 30th minute.
Fabiani tussled with Roux at the bottom of a ruck when one of the officials spotted the bite.
After reviewing the TMO footage (WATCH BELOW), referee Mathieu Raynal had no hesitation in showing Fabiani a red card, reporting that there was a “clear mark” on Roux’s arm.
