.....or did every significant call go against us. The two disallowed tries, the Louw yellow, the  frog elbow non yellow, the put in penalties. Every one that was in the refs area of judgement. How just touching a ball on the ground constituted a touch down beats me...I have seen that side swipe not called scores of times. And the knock on, give me a break.

Barnes never asked the question positively and the TMO must have had an 82 Lafite delivered to his box.

It's disconcerting to feel you are always being ripped off....it makes one feel like a bit of a nutter....but that was my sense. And the to have Skinstad and his fellow commentator rationalizing these decisions had me leaping off the couch.

Are you blaming the Ref or the TMO?...thought the disallowed tries were TMO calls not the REf's...that said I believe it a case of deadset bias. Anyone know who the TMO was?

I thought the decision about the Fourie "try" was bad.   I thought that despite the poor attempt of Morne to catch the ball, the ball went back after he touched it.   That one I think the TMO got wrong.   In the case of the Louw try I do not think any TMO would have awarded the try.   It was split second stuff - but still the French player grounded the ball a split second before Louw did it.

Anyway there was a couple of incidents where cards could have been awarded for unacceptable play.   You mentioned one - but Bakkies Botha was also involved in one as well - so maybe the ref was too lenient.

Moz the officials were:
Referee: Wayne Barnes (England)
Assistant referees: Glen Jackson (New Zealand), Leighton Hodges (Wales)
TMO: Iain Ramage (Scotland)
The TMO was from Scotland (may have NZ roots though, lol)

Moz: in general when SH teams tour  NH we are astounded at some of the refs' calls. I felt the same way about some of the ABs games.
Fortunately it has not effected the outcome & the best teams won.
It's stating the obvious I know but this is good prep for SH teams even if it is frustrating.

Old Barnesie also took forever and a day to get the 9's to feed the scrum, same thing happened in the Italy v Argie game earlier in the day, hope that's just coincidence and not another concerted effort by the IRB to undermine the beloved scrum.
