The Repetition of the Broken Record

You have to ask yourself whether the same analysis week after week adds any value to the forum. Some guys who think they are CLEVER keep harping on about the Bok backrow. Contrary to what these guys think writers around the world have been salivating about our loose trio. The same thing is present when it comes to flyhalf and our props. We know these guys arent your favourite players but please look at the performances objectively. Repeating the same analysis for 4 months gets quite boring and all the posters are picking up on the lack of credibility. Please keep stats from last year's Soweto test out of this!

Aha, you see that too?  Some supporters are hellbent on assassinating the character of players or apposing teams who they do not like.  Some go so far as to dream up imaginary rubbish and then put those forward as facts.  i suppose that with a forum name and the privilege of being Anonymous with another forum name it is easier than to go write a piece in a publication under your own name.What I find boring is the repeated hammering on a player by a fan/supporter never mind what the accredited rugby analysts say about that player "Johnny Poster" is always correct and if you do not agree then the next option is to start calling you names and making the same judgement calls on you the poster.So much on here is said and is put forward as gospel of how dirty team x or team y is and how player a goes onto the pitch with a plan to take-out player b. This senseless blabbering does nothing for the debate but serves only to boost the fragile ego of the poster.Yes, we all knock the referee from time to time but hell some of the comments border on ridiculous. Referees are human and like players are part of the game.  I have no doubt that a referee is in some way influenced by media reports or that there is a degree of pressure from a hostile home-town crowd, but to state categorically that a referee is blatantly cheating or that the referee is "bought" is clearly the sign of a sick mind.  Why, Mr Anonymous poster do you not take your "facts" and go and make a case for it with the IRB?  Aha, is it because you will then have to manup and present yourself with the real identity?  Johnny Nobody who is a couch potato and clearly do not know all the rugby laws (calling them rules in the rant you write does not help your cause either) and in many cases have not played the game or have excelled in grade three for two months.Compare the writing of normal posters to that of Ole Cruise (Thomas) and you will be quickly reminded of who knows rugby.
PLEASE understand that there are quite a few levelheaded posters here and on other rugby sites who know the game and can calmly reason a situation or an incident.
Using stats and placing them as individual portions out of context is silly to say the least.  When comparing stats the base needs to be the same.  For instance, I cannot compare Eben Etzebeth with Brodie Retallick when the one lock played in poring rain against a strong opposition and the other played on a dry field where competition was not that strong. The one player had an excellent loose trio and he could play a nice supporting role which made him stand out, while the other player had a below par loose trio and he had to work much harder in the tight situations therefore appearing much less flashy and prone to making mistakes and handling errors.  Surely the guy on the dry field against lesser opposition will run further and thus show more meters covered with ball in hand.
Stats can be confusing and is often distorted by other factors which are disregarded by the poster.
I know, we build dams and bridges and all sorts of civil stuff and if we were to base a quote or job on some portion of previous stats we will be bankrupt by the second job.
Players of sport, any sport, will know the laws that govern that sport and will always float on the border of these laws.  Some get it absolutely correct and have made an art out of it, like McCaw.  Why blame the player if the referee has a law book and is in charge of the game officiating it with two ARs and a Telly referee?  There will always be niggle, there will always be controversy, there will always be 50/50 decisions.  There will always be players who excel in some games or conditions and there will always be star players who have an off day and under perform.And there will always be posters who keep beating a dead horse for lack of imagination or knowledge.  There will always be posters with overcharged emotions and enlarged egos who will call fellow posters names and SHOUT WITH A KEYBOARD.  Thank God I do not have to braai with them after a game, they normally spit when they shout in real life - sies man!.
Oh, yes then there is the rebuttal by them FIOFO or the classic if you do not like it do not read it..hahahaha, so who are you writing it for, yourself or your "supporters" or is it a public forum and anyone can read - or maybe you are the owner and have the rights to such statements?
Forums such as this do more to damage rugby than to uplift the game and make our kids proud of the game.  No respect, no logic, no real knowledge, no manners; but they are in the minority thank you Lord.
