The return of the Master.....goats magnificent

Led by the calm presence of Morne Steyn the Boks won in a brave effort against a very good Oz running attack. But what smarts from Steyn at the end to take the tap....what great line kicking from this maligned player, and some fine tackles as well.
Lambie was solid. 
Habana so smart and his blindside tackle of Genia at the base was a try saver.
Steyn was a pro. And his fine passing actually created more space than Jantjies short passing did in previous tests.
Paige was crisp and his service was impeccable.
Fine games by Strauss, Redlinghuis and Kitshoff.  But particularly by Strauss with turnovers, busts and superb lineout throws.

Etzebeth and Stephanie were tremendous but Lomp was a turnover disaster.
But the man who kept us in the game when the pressure was really on was Francois Louw, what a great contribution.

Whiteley came  into his own in the last 15 minutes.
This was a game we played on the back foot. Mainly because turnovers and penalties destroyed our possession. But the chaps never gave up in a series of great try line stands.....good stuff.
In all a vindication for our chaps who have endured awful attacks from fans and our absolutely clueless media. Well done the Boks.

 Paige definitely looked the part tonight. Competition between him and Faf is only a good thing. Let them push each other. Lambie was solid at fullback and wiyh his stint on the wing (why not LeRoux??).
Louw and Strauss had their best games of the season, must have been looking at social media, lol. Something lit a firework under their arses.  
Overall a good defensive game but alot of work to do still going forward.
Oh and Mapoe needs to draw the tackle before the pass. Aussie defence were just drifting off him onto Hougie in the 5m channel.

Morne was an improvement on the erratic jantjes. We need Pollard back.Habana is injured so a wing is needed = Ulengo?Paige passed well but nothing else. nowhere near Faf in class. He should not be in squad.Get rid of Paige and de Jongh. Way off the class needed.Bongi is not remotely in class of Marx. 
Lucky win by Boks. Terrible territory and possession stats. A s Jean says this is a game that won't take us anywhere.

The defensive game was due to mistakes and turnovers. We moved the ball quite well gaining 4 metres per carry .....but we managed to turn it over for big distance a few times. Certainly we need to sharpen our offensive game.....but at least we looked like Springboks again.

Ja, the last pass or missed offload killed off a few good attacks but listening to the pundits (dangerous as it may be) after the game they spoke of confidence and the lack of it in the Boks. They also mentioned it being a game where both teams went out, not to play but more critically not lose.

 The small Bok backline had no punch. Oh for Combrink, Allende and Rohan. Le Roux at 15. Pollard at flyhalf. Faf at scrummie. Vorster too is worth considering if he regains pre injury performance. Then we would have a real backline but of course would need a backline coach.

 Nice summary Moz.Page was nothing special, but not bad either. Watching the Cheetahs earlier, I must say that I will follow the development of Shaun Venter with interest. A very Joost style of player. Could turn out to be the 9 we currently lacks.

 I haven't seen Shaun play Blikkies so I  can't really comment. Paige passed extremely well I thought, but agreed he didn't really do much else and fell off a few tackles/ not nearly the disaster some predicted though.
