The rugby has been shocking for us Saffers...seems that the holiday period has started

Sadly for those more intent on Saffa accolades it has been a nightmare... I've been watching rugby for many a decade and this is very sad so forgive me for spoiling the party that had no chance of a success.

Our dear friends in the land of long clouds are also sad because they no longer have any challenges.

We are like "The ship that died in Shame". I joke a lot to hide my pain and I know laughter is a cure but lets continue in hope.

Great nations do fall, but there is also the possibility even if it so remote that we'll somehow manage to get back on track and do something objective and constructive if we can be honest and start killing fantasies that there is no gold at the end of a ficticious rainbow and tough resolve and hard work with absolute integrity is needed from all of us to get back on track. Playing the fiddle while Rome burns must stop and we Saffas must have a more serious attitude and responsibility to where we are going and defy these awful political criminals who are destroying this country...lets pull ourselves together and boldly stand up for what is fair, right and trustworthy and start thinking.

 To think that you wasted all those years watching a sport you could never really grasp.
What a shame!!

Well you are probably right...it's part of life...the more you see and think you understand a bit you learn more through mistakes...it's called humility...a process that takes your whole life to feel at peace with and yet the real truth is the more educated you are and if you are honest you realise the less you know. I certainly know I am no expert in rugby or anything else for the matter.

I enjoy rugby and watching it that's all that really matters to me...I enjoy other things too like fishing, hunting and climbing mountains (when I was younger) and nature but as I get older I realise that how little I know but I'm quite content to learn more...many times I'm wrong and know that but I never make it the sole issue or religion in my life...when you appoint yourself to a position of know all you'll find your are delusional and self orientated and realise your biggest enemy is your ego...what I have learnt is very simple is the most educated and knowledgeable people never boast and don't take advantage over the less gifted people...we all have problems and chinks in our armour.

Rugby is a great game and entertainment but it certainly is not the be all and end all of all things....when people become fanatics on anything and it's common amongst sports fan they support their teams and become only interested in their team.

I enjoy rugby as a sport, went to a great rugby school where my colleagues and friends were great rugby players...a handful too were provincial players and a few even internationals and I can say I never found them boastful, arrogant and overbearing in their gifts. It's the common herd that puts them on pedestals...I've never found one that's boastful.

I do have individuals that I admire and follow in a enjoyable way...like Patrick Lambie...schools rugby was a passion of mine and watched my old school often at Goldstones and Michaelhouse,Hilton, Glenwood and Kearsney. I always enjoyed the matches between these schools especially the Michaelhouse and Hilton ones in their lovely grounds in Balgowan and Hilton.

I really don't care what you think or say...or that matter what anybody else' s disposition.

I know I probably upset you...but it was only a tease in good humour so don't take me seriously...ease up on your ego.
