It is always amazing that member claiming to support SA Teams can be so ridiculously use whar happened to support their ideas and as a result they do not do an honest evaluation as to what happened during the games in question.

The Hurricanes – Sharks  game

It is necessary to be quite frank – it was a dismal performance  by the Sharks = a disgrace in fact.   The blame game is to blame the Sharks for playing according to some members the wrong game plan.   What they wanted  is not clear at all – but one can assume that they  are supporting their favoured  standard playing style -  kick the ball away and do not under any circumstances lass the ball.  

The real reasons  -  a dismal lack of team spirit and a serious deficient flyhalf that caused  serious problems for the Sharks was blatantly ignored.   Poor defense was in evodemce – yet also ignored by our local “experts”.  

A  dismal performance of which the Sharks should be ashamed.

The Lions - Crusaders game

Comments on the positive side was  minimal – other than a remark that the Lions played a style of rugby that worked out well on the day.   Other teams should by implications never try to implement the same style of rugby.  

Mozart came up with an eye-opener.    After a mere 8 months ago stating that the Lions players do not deserve  Springbok selection  and that Meyer ignoring the players from the Lions was correct – now he supports some of the players.

However, one of the strongest  points of the Lions team i their loosie combination and here we tlk about the combination as a whole.  The lions is the exact opposite to what some members advocate on this site.   The blindside loosie must be a lock – not a real loose forward.   Tecklenberg  showed them how ridiculous their approach is.

The Stormers – Chiefs  game

Another disgraceful performance by the Stormers team .   There problems remain clear – a bad prop selection to start with – a seriously defective loosie  combination – a seriously-defective flyhalf – a poor to non-existent game plan -  total  absence of team spirit and poor captaincy/leaderhip,  

Now Fleck wants to ask Eddie Jones for advice – what a farce.

You rubbish others' viewpoints and p!ss on them for  criticising teams/coaches/players. Have you forgotten that you turned your back on the Boks to support New Zealand. 

You were kakking yourself when I told you, about a year ago that SA rugby, as a whole, is stuffed. You had a fit about it because that meant that, if you agreed, you would no longer have been able to put 110% of the blame on HM. I would be a lot less concerned about childish little spats with forum members and ridiculous "my dcik is bigger than yours" arguments. The concern has to be the sorry state of our rugby and that has been coming for ages. 

It is not, like we all like to believe, a matter of blaming this, that or the other coach. It is a failure of SA Rugby in total. 

There is this massive hype about "the New Zealand" way of playing the game. There is no special "New Zealand game plan". The New Zealand rugby set-up has realised long ago that rugby is actually a very simple game with a few basic principles and if you stick to the basics, it will work out fine almost every time. That is their secret. They stick to the basics. They do not often "try" players in this, that and the other position. If they want to use a specific player and they know that he has certain shortcomings, they still play him and make sure that those around him do the basics right. Easy peasy. SA teams often take players, used to play in certain positions, and then stuff them around and when they fail, he gets chucked aside.
Jesse Kriel is an example. He was playing his best rugby, for the Bulls, at fullback when he first came into the limelight. He was selected for the Boks but the flavour of the month was Willie Le Roux, despite already showing some cracks, and there was no way that he was going to dislodge Le Roux. So what do we do? Stick him in at no 13 because we do not have any outside centres in SA who are up to it. We didn't have any at the time and we do not have any now either. Unfortunately for Kriel, he had a few great moments in his debut and voila, he was stuck as the new great hope at 13. Kak. He is a fullback and if he is not good enough to be the starting fullback or the substitute, he should not be in the team. Period. We have this whole idea of a utility player. BS. There should be no such thing. You need players who are specialists but can also play in other positions when push comes to shove. Basics. The Danie Rossouws and the Matt Giteaus of this world are few and far between.  
In any case, back to the so-called New Zealand game plan. This is what they do. They do their set-pieces well. They do not try and scrum the opposition off their own ball in every scrum but when they do get the upper hand they do do it and then do it well. Otherwise they are happy to have a good solid and stable scrum to ensure they get a good clean ball without any sideshows. Their decision making at 8, 9, and 10 is always very good. They do not try and out-jump their opponents in every line-out. They rather make sure that they are in a better position to defend after the line-out. They do not try and steal the ball at each and every ruck. They make sure that they can defend after the ruck first and then try and steal the ball. They think ahead. Basics
They do not have this running and kicking halfbacks BS that we have in SA. THey have halfbacks who can play the basics, i.e. kick when the kick is on and run when the run is on. They do not need a farking kicking or a running game plan. 
They have halfbacks whose decision making is topnotch. They do not necessarily try to kick the ball miles away when they do kick. They almost always rather go for a short, well-placed kick to ensure that their chasers have a good chance at competing for the ball, or they kick the ball into empty space. They do not have stupid kicks downfield into the hands of dangerous runners, like Willie Le Roux so often does. It sometimes looks as though he just closes his eyes and kick because he does not have a clue what to do next. They only kick down the throats of runners when they know that there is a chaser with a better than average chance of getting the ball off the receiver. Basics
Their back-line players do the basics. No fancy BS running from side to side and gaining bugger all like we like to do. They attack open spaces. Their defence and the organising of their defensive lines are second to none. Basics.
Most of all, they do not panic and try silly things when the chips are down. They always keep the end goal in mind. Basics. That  is what makes them successful. 
They do not stuff around with sideshows, and that brings me back to an earlier point, only because it irritates the crap out of me. We have this stuffed up idea of "having to make find a way to accommodate" this that and the other player "because he is too good not to have in the team". BS. If he is not the best in his position then so be it. If Dan Carter was not at the top of his game for a certain period, he was dropped from the team but he was always kept in mind. There were times prior to the 2015 RWC when we all got the idea that Carter was over and done with but who stepped up to the plate when the RWC reached the sharp end? Dan Carter. Why did they push his button? Because he was one of those who could stick to the basics, which is required at the business end of such a tournament. They did not, very often, stuff him around in the team and when they did they played him at 12, which is a position in which he is very familiar. They never tried him in this that and the other position. 
By the time when a NZ player reaches Super Rugby and test level, all the trying this, and trying that BS is a thing of the past. That is done earlier in his career and they reach Super Rugby and international rugby because they are already specialists in their various positions. That is one of the main reasons why they can stick to the basics and why they do the basics well. 
One day, when SA rugby, and I mean SA rugby in total, has remembered the basics of rugby and have learned them again, we might return to be at the top of the table. We have to stop over- complicating things.

 I tried to read the above long story - but my problem is that what Cerdunce tried to convey is exactly opposite to what he wrote previously.   The players and plan that ruined SA Rugby and that he supported has always been exactly opposite to the basic way of playing the game.    What Meyer tried and what Morne practiced  - so hihly praised by the Dunce at the time - is exactly opposite to what the plain and simple approach is.  This whole story is not what is practised by most coaches in SA with the loosies in the backline neutralizing the backline as an example.   So kee p it short - wha you wrote is utter BS and very uninformed.   There has to be a comprehensive gae plan as well - and that is not mentioned by you at all.    IN anybody says it will take years to get over the sorry inheritance of De Villers and Meyer - and what is now produced by  Coetzee - then the Duce wants to have a heart attack.   What a farce hat idiot is.   

Ag ou CleverMinion, it would appear that you are of the opinion that HM and MS are to blame for the sorry state of affairs in SA rugby. It just shows how seriously out of touch you really are.

I agree that we should not be posting photos of other posters on this site, minions are fine however.

 Except when the poster exposed explicitly gave permission for the article which included this picture....to be posted on the Board.....and started the whole process by referencing the article clearly with the intent that it should be found.

If however said poster then let's us know he doesn't want his picture or other personal info used again. In that case an emoticon or minion may be used in it's place .

 So he changed his mind? Fair enough.....but then the same poster solicited Rednek to post personal information about me. So should I be concerned about his new sensitivities?

 At this point we are trying to establish a reasonable guideline. I'm not sure what CleverMike wants, if he has changed his mind, or if he even cares. Same for your situation.

We have always had a reasonable set of guidelines:
1 Family is off limits
2 Personal details are private unless the subject introduces those details himself
3 Every view is welcome, but has to be defended.
4 Every poster is welcome regardless of whether we agree with his/her views
5 Reasonable decorum is appreciated, but has to be reciprocal.
I don't pretend I haven't broken those rules myself, but usually because of Rule 6
6 An eye for an eye....a tooth for a tooth.

Seb, I believe you have mistakenly posted a photo of Beeno. It's been so long since we have seen him one can't be absolutely sure. He may be at the optometrist or getting another tooth implant. I have heard that they are offering ruckers posters a two for one special
